Do you need a subscription to view the videos?

Unfortunately yes. However, since I already have a Ring 10/month subscription for multiple cameras in my house, instead I just added a stick-up Ring camera in the corner of my garage to view live, record and even comunícate with anyone in the garage. The video quality is way better than the silly little camera on the Chamberlain motor. The MyQ subscription is huge waste of money.

I did this with my moms garage door the other day. If you Google “link my Q to Alexa”, there is an article that shows you how to utilize the Live Key (if I remember right) app to do this. It is a LENGTHY step-by-step process, but if you follow the steps, it does work! Hope this helps!

To the manufactuer - Can the led light be set to stay on beyond 4.5 minutes? It always turn dark on me after that, even with motion.

Yes. you just have to hit the button twice and it will stay on. It will turn on due to the motion detector so manually turn it off and back on, after that it will stay lit until you turn it off or trigger the door to open or close.
