Excellent product
I have used this product hundreds of times with excellent results. I think the negative reviews come mostly from people who don't understand the principles of polishing, which are a little more complicated than you might think:01. In general, you don't buy a polishing compound, you buy a polishing system. Manufacturers, like Novus, make sets of abrasive products that usually go from coarse to medium to fine. In some product lines there are extra coarse and extra fine abrasives. Once in a while you can buy a singe product that does the job, but in most cases it's better to purchase a set (system) of abrasive products in the same product line and learn how they work. That's why this product has a #3 on it.02. The polishing system that you buy has to be appropriate for the material you want to polish. The Novus system is designed for specific types of plastic. You have to find out exactly what material you have and buy the abrasives that are designed for it.03.Once you have the right set of products, you start with the product that will remove the deepest scratch. If you have a 1/8" deep scratch in wood, you can't start with 400 grit sandpaper. You'll just end up with a highly polished scratch. In that case you would start with maybe an 80 grit, and then go to 120, 220, 400, and 600 for a really smooth finish. That holds true for every material you will ever polish. The material and polishing products will be different, but the process is always the same.04. Not all scratches can or should be removed. When you want to remove a scratch, you have to look at how deep it is and think whether you can afford to remove enough surrounding material to get rid of it. Deep scratches (deep enough to feel with your fingernail) in CDs and DVDs usually can't be removed because you'd have to remove so much surrounding material that you would cut through to the data layer. A really deep scratch in an aquarium probably *could* be removed, but you are either going to have to live with a visible "dent" in the surface (the surrounding plastic that you removed) or you have to sand down the entire sheet, which can take quite a bit of time.

In a word - Unbelievable!
I ordered this product to use on the lenses of an older pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, honestly expecting it wouldn’t do much.Well, I was wrong! I’m so impressed with the results that I’m writing my first-ever Amazon review, and I’ve been using this product for years now. No exaggeration. My sunglasses had several fine scratches on both sides of the lenses (which, for reference, are polarized). After watching a few online videos on how to properly use it, I spent about 20 minutes working on the lenses. The results were amazing. It significantly reduced the appearance of fine scratches, both when looking at the sunglasses and while wearing them. Now, if you’re expecting this product to completely restore your lenses to a brand-new condition, you’ll probably be disappointed. I don’t think there’s anything on the market that can do that. But if you’re looking for something that can minimize fine scratches and improve the overall appearance, this product is fantastic. I’m genuinely impressed.

Want to remove scratches from your glasses? DO NOT BUY THIS!
I specifically searched for ‘scratch remover for eyeglass lenses’ and this product popped up first. I didn’t see anything under the item description that would suggest this item could not be used for my purposes, but the very first thing I see under the directions when I received the item was it could not be used for glasses.

Worked just a described
Bought product to clean the plastic windows on Aliner trailer. Worked great. Takes a little elbow grease to make it shine. We then used it on our cloudy headlights. That worked even better. Will see how long they stay clear.

Perfect for Ducati wind screen.
Well I wasted $200.00 on a new windscreen for the Ducati. The OE windscreen had small scratches and watermarks all over it. Tried using other products that left a film on it. Talked to the Ducati dealer and they recommended the NOVUS 2 Saved $20.00 buying on Amazon vs the dealer. Windscreen looks brand new. I can also use it to remove waterspouts from the carbon fiber pieces. Great product.

Does well on fine scratches to gel coat
Did a good job with fine scratches on the side of my gel-coated fiberglass camper, which I got from brushing across some tree branches. Scratches on the acrylic window took a little more work but most of these also came out. The ones that didn't came out with the same product having a medium grit.
