Excellent all-in-one product for both water metering and control.
08/02/2025 Update:It’s been almost a year and I have been very happy with the reliability and performance of the YoLink FlowSmart All-in-One Smart Water Meter & Shutoff valve I had bought previously (model YS5008-UC). When I needed another one I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is now an even newer model, the YS5018-UC in blue, so I jumped on it and got it.It is great to know that in case of a leak water will be shutoff even if there is no mains power or internet connectivity as the FlowSmart is self-contained and can sense how much water is bring used over a period of time and it will self shutoff based on thresholds you set. It does not even need to communicate with the Hub to do this! There is even a manual valve control feature where if you ignore the countless low battery warnings and the battery is exhausted you can still turn water on and off with a simple Alan key.The previous YS5008-UC model came in white, works great and even tho the battery lasts a very long time (have not needed to replace mine yet) but it is not very easy to replace. The new YS5018-UC is a sleeker design and comes in blue. The other difference is the ability to much easily change the battery when needed, so definitely a worthwhile improvement & upgrade from the YS5008-UC. Like the YS5008-UC the YS5018-UC also measures and logs water temperature and like other devices in the FlowSmart line there is not only valve control but also historical water usage tracking and emergency shutoff capabilities. I am very pleased with both the previous and new improved YS5018-UC in blue.09/13/2024 Initial Review:I have previously used the Flume 2 system for a while and it is a great system but it does have some limitations. Specifically, while Flume tracks water usage by being strapped to a compatible water company supplied meter, it provides no water flow control. By contract the YoLink FlowSmart All-in-One installs inline with your house main water pipe and this provides a lot more functionality, including automatic water shutoff in case of a leak (using a leak sensor), manual shutoff during water repairs in the home, water temperature to make sure your pipes do not freeze, timers to schedule the valve to open and close as desired so it can be used for irrigation and pool fill, etc... You can schedule alerts for all the features to minute detail. The YoLink FlowSmart All-in-One is indeed VERY versatile and coupled with the amazing long-distance YoLink LoRa bridges it has a range of over 1/4 mile! The unit is internal battery operated but the batteries are supposed to last many years so it's very worry free. The fittings come in several dimensions and use standard NPT thread. Support is outstanding and they will bend over backwards to ensure satisfaction as I can personally attest, even in cases where there is nothing wrong with the product. Depending on your homeowner insurance, you may even get a discount if you let them know you have automated water shutoff installed!

A great product...Highly Recommended
We live in Michigan but spend the winters in Florida. Our chief concern was avoiding a disastrous flood from frozen pipes or water tank failure. This is an amazing product, it provided peace of mind while us saving money. The Intuitive software app provides options for alarm settings with notifications sent as text and email to my mobile device. The valve can be set to automatically close based upon a single session water usage, continuous water use length of time or if the system detects a leak. We supplemented the valve with the YoLink leak sensors placed under sinks and near toilets. The meter is intelligent without being overly controlling. It gave me total control. I found it straight forward and easy to adjust limits. It worked seamlessly with the optional leak sensors. As a bonus, the water usage graphics identified slow leaks from toilets that no doubt had existed for years. The savings from water saved will cover the cost of the unit itself in time.We hired a plumber to install the meter which was accomplished in under two hours. DIY if you are handy with plumbing.YoLink technical support was available promptly upon demand. I could actually call and speak to a support agent without a long drawn out voice mail menu or waiting for a slow e-mail response. They were professional, knowledgeable and prompt in addressing my concerns. In summary, the YoLink devices worked as advertised and we are completely satisfied.

Good product, but LCD orientation is a minor problem.
I am a big YoLink fan and have 30+ devices in my home. I was very happy to see a YoLink flow meter and ordered it right away. The installation and setup was easy. One area for improvement would be the built in LCD screen. If the meter is installed vertically, the screen will be upside down (if the flow and orientation instructions are followed). If the unit is installed horizontally, the screen will be rotated 90 degrees. But since the app gives you the same information, you probably won't be using the LCD screen on the meter anyways. So I would still definitely recommend the meter. One other suggestion for a future revision would be to add a water pressure sensor. It is probably not easily done, but would make this unit absolutely perfect.
