This is a compact kit but don't let that fool you, this is pretty high quality stuff. The shovel and axe are both sturdy and up for some serious abuse and use as real tools - not super light weight variations like the old US issuesd folding shovel types you might be familiar with. They are light enough to pack depending on your mission and defintiely a nice option to have in your car if you doing car camping or just have in case of an emergency or survival situation. Packaged in a compact case, this makes for a great kit and also a fine gift for the outdoorsy type.

These components are very light and not as useful as you may want/need.These look cool, nice case just not a real heavy wieght tactical grade option.

This is a great camping tool set. Easy to assemble and the materials are upper mid in quality. Travel case is rugged and will survive a multiple backpacking trips (mine is still fine after 4 trips out) or being in the bottom of your trunk.

I've purchased survival sets in the past and in most cases, the supplier/manufacturer uses the cheapest components/tools within set. That said, I'm very pleasantly surprised that this set contains very high quality tools. Very heavy duty and still lightweight. Shovel, axe and tool heads screw together nicely on handles and stay securely tightened. Everything comes in a fairly nice carrying bag for easy portability and storage. Very happy with purchase and would make an excellent gift.

Brought with me on a camping trip and every tool disappointed.It was a complete let down because it appears REALLY nice and I assumed the quality of the tools would match the look.Couldn't cut through wood in the least bit, my old dull axe worked better, unfortunately.

This is one of those things you did KNOW you needed, but you DO!I've considered getting something like this for years and when this popped up on my Vine, I jumped at the chance to review this product. This kit comes with everything! It has so many tips for the multi section pole it is amazing. All of the pieces screw together smoothly and come apart smoothly also.The case is also very nice and a good touch to keep everything together. The "foam" that keeps each part in its place isn't super high quality, but it does the job very well. (If this was a pelican case with "high quality "pick" foam the foam would cost more than this entire kit!)Not a single part of this kit was disappointing. Every piece worked well and connected to other pieces smoothly and all of them appeared to be very well made.At the time of review this product just under $50 which I think is a very fair price for everything you get considering that each piece is well made and that it comes in a very nice case to keep everything together is a bonus IMO. Excellent product!

This is not a set you would give to a young person. The shovel is good, and the axe is very sharp, and it is very easy to cut yourself as you lift the axe from the container because of the shape and position. There are number of different items in the set, but it came with no instructions on how to put them together. For example, there is a Phillips head screwdriver, but it is not clear how you attach it to anything to actually use it. There was something that looked like a whistle, but blowing into it produced no audible sound. This is an interesting looking set, but a) you need to be careful with it and b) it needs some documentation to explain how to use it well.
