Item is plug and play and works just like it should. It ran my outdated printer CD software without a hitch. The only reason I gave it 4 Stars is it came without a Amazon shipping bag so everyone who saw the package knew what it was.

My laptops doesn't have an optical drive and this drive works perfectly. It’s incredibly silent, which is a big plus when working in a quiet environment. The drive loads and transfers information very quickly, making it efficient for burning CDs or watching DVDs.This portable optical drive can be easily moved from one room to another, and plugged into any of the computers, to play DVDs, or load data from a CD, or burn some new backup data.Easy plug & play, and I have no personal need to mess with DVD region settings.The drive unit also includes SD card reader slots, which is a cool feature but I probably don't have a use for them to be integrated into my optical drive (I already have a card reader adapter).

I plug it into my M3 Mac, doesn’t recognize the hardware. Tried adaptations and hardware isn’t recognized. Then later as I was reading instructions I have to buy the software for it. Would probably return it if it wasn’t a hassle.

Convenient connection options with both USB A & C built-in cables. Plus the added benefit of memory card readers all in one. It worked perfectly to load my Epson V600 scanner software which is on DVD on my new HP desktop computer which has no built-in drives.

I received a replacement for this external CD player as the tray was not working. Thank you very much for that. Now I appear to have a disc stuck in place. It will not eject and it is not registering on my IMAC, so there is no way to tell my IMAC to eject the disc. Any ideas? The CD did eject, after waiting a long time. I think there was too much information on the CD for the drive to handle. I won't try that again!
