Doesn’t need an outside battery for it to function properly. It has a built in rechargeable battery. It works great and you can adjust the volume and the alarm sound.

This is one of those things that you don’t know how good it is until you need it. I have a sump pump and a freezer plugged into 2 gfi outlets in my basement. Recently there was a blackout for a few minutes. When power returned the gfi outlets did not reset. The sump pump was off and it rained, leaving me with a wet basement floor. I bought these devices to prevent that from happening again. I haven’t tested them. They just plug into the outlet and the indicator light comes on. You plug your appliance into this device. It rings if power is cut to the outlet. This only takes up one outlet on a duplex box so you can use the other outlet for another appliance. I am satisfied with this purchase.

After having our outlet trip during a power failure and losing hundreds of dollars worth of meat and food in our deep freeze, we turned to this product. Since installing, our breaker turned off again during a storm and the alarm immediately sounded. Even though our deep freeze is in the garage, we could hear it inside the home. Simply plug it in, plug in your appliance and it’s all good! Best purchase in a while

Incorrect product description. Good customer support.This unit does not detect power failure, it will cause a power cut-off when detecting water. It will not alarm to detect an unstable power supply or power failure to the unit.This unit is only a water detector, not a power failure detector.

I bought this alarm after my freezer quit twice, spoiling everything in it.We have an issue with our garage outlets in the summer heat, and they often trip. In having it less than 3 months, it has gone off three times, saving me tons of money!Great value!

After having my freezer outlet randomly stop working, making a huge smelly mess I wanted a solution to prevent it from happening again. I now have comfort in knowing that if my freezer outlet stops working I will be notified and hopefully have the chance to save my food and from having to ever clean that smelly mess again. Power Failure Alarm works great and is easy to use. Highly recommend this.
