Major mounting improvements from last model, user-friendly remote and improved sound
I purchased this set in 2019 and used it on many long trips with my two preschoolers. Overall it was a great set! However in August 2020 my daughter broke the slave monitor and I needed to repurchase a new set (it was past warranty). I was extremely impressed by the improvements and updates that have been made to this model since the set I purchased a year ago! I already liked using the Wonnie W-1012 set but the new model (same model number) has been updated. The biggest improvement was the way to attach the monitor to the seat back. This model now comes with brackets for each headrest that screw in to each other, and then the monitor actually screws onto the bracket mount. The screen can be tilted but will NOT fall off! (I had that trouble with the last model - that the headrest straps sometimes moved and the monitor slid out of place.). Additionally, the mount kit comes with an extra (longer) set of screws besides the ones in the brackets, so that if your headrest bars are thicker (like mine), you can still secure them just fine with the longer screws. Whoever invented this system for mounting a DVD player is a genius! No unwanted movement with all the ability to adjust angle. Another significant improvement was the remote. The old remote had all buttons the same size and not organized in a way that made total sense. The print was so small that it was hard to locate at a quick glance what you were looking for. This new remote is larger and the buttons are spaced out more, and categorized by section (like a regular TV remote) so it's much easier to find what button you're looking for. The last improvement was sound. I could never get the volume very loud on the old model (loud enough, but sometimes just barely) but the new one seems to have better sound with more variability. I also tried it with headphones and the sound was great - much better than the previous model! I really don't have any complaints about this device. The LCD player is noticeably heavier than the slave monitor but it also contains the DVD. Nothing of concern for a child or adult using it. If my kids are holding the device when they watch it, they can accidentally turn it off or fast forward/backward as the pads where you control those features are on the front of the monitor and adjust very easily (maybe too easily) with a finger tap. Other than that, I have no complaints and HIGHLY recommend this new and improved model!

Works Great!
These are really good quality dvd players. I had a set that lasted several years. One of the screens eventually stopped working, but the other one is still growing strong. I bought this new set after trying a different brand that didn’t work well at all. It wouldn’t play most of the dvds we tried. So, I went back to Wonnie brand. The new set works really well. It plays all of our dvds and the picture quality is really nice. They can also be charged and will hold it for awhile, so they don’t have to be plugged in all the time.

DOA. UPDATE: They Fixed The Problem
Original, 1 star review: Remote control (which is pretty much needed for everything, from volume, to whatever else) doesn't work. It was DOA. I have contacted the manufacturer but have yet to hear back. I'm happy to change my review if this problem can be solved. UPDATE: I heard back from the manufacturer and they were able to send a working remote. The system now works as it should. This DVD player has a bright screen, intuitive controls, and a remote as well. PROS: -Bright Screen -Two Screens -All Cables / Adapters Included -Does what it claims to do. -Can be attached with a permanent clip, or a "temporary" Velcro strap (which we are using in a more permanent fashion). -Screens have built-in speakers -Screens have built-in batteries CONS: -Volume can only be adjusted through the remote. No remote = no on-screen volume control. Don't lose the remote! -Even at the loudest volumes, the player is fairly quiet. -Outputting the sound to the AUX cable didn't exactly solve the issue. For refence, we normally listen to our radio somewhere in the 12-28 volume setting on our radio. Again, as a reference, this range will cover everything from quiet music to wanting to hear louder music at highway speeds. The DVD player needed to be at a volume of 55-63(MAX) in order to be heard! Now, we could hear it, but man that's a lot of volume needed to hear the DVDs! I'm not used to turning my radio up to such levels. -The built-in speakers are worthless at highway speeds (see above comments about speaker volume). They might be good for sitting on the couch or a quiet, local drive. The volume issues were enough to give this 4 stars instead of 5. Look, the DVD player is fine. It works. You can hear it so long as you have an AUX cord to your car speakers and crank it way up. If you have an aux cord for your car, I would recommend this product. If you do not have an AUX cord to your car speakers, I would recommend you look elsewhere. Final Note: I got an email from the seller stating that they 1) apologize for the remote issue, and 2) asking for an Amazon review. They offered me a bag for the DVD player in the same email. It wasn't clear to me if the bag was in exchange for a review, or if it was an apology for the remote issue, but for full disclosure you should know where I stand here. My review was not swayed by the free bag (which I have not yet received).

Disappointed with quality.
I received two of these portable DVD players, and both have stopped working within weeks. One started skipping and wouldn’t load the screen right away, and now the other won’t turn on at all—it just shows a black screen. I needed this for a trip, and unfortunately, I won’t be able to use it because it no longer works. Very disappointed with the quality and reliability.
