Pretty good game
"From the creators of One Night Ultimate Werewolf," caught my eye because we love One Night in our home. This game is absolutely nothing like it and if I didn't already know bezier Games was the company behind it, I never would have associated the games. Nevertheless, this is a fun game that my husband and I enjoyed. My teens weren't as into it though. I do like the colorfulness of the cards.

Xylotar - from The Creators of One Night Ultimate Werewolf
A bit complex - and it feels like needlessly complex, not just a highly detailed fun game. We only played it a few times, and it just never felt like it was getting easier/better/more fun.

Fun game from a great company
I got the opportunity to meet some of the folks from Bezier games at my first GenCon this year. This was one of the games they had put out for demo and I got an opportunity to be able to learn it from them. Whole I couldn't afford to go home with some of their games, I was able to get this after GenCon and I am glad I did. It is a blast! The concept is based on a Xylotar playing polar bear...so think keytar but with xylophone mechanics. You start by drawing a hand based on the number of players and you are effectively building your Xylotar...only you don't know exactly how. So you are assembling keys based on their hidden numerical value. Every player has their Xylotar (cards) face down in front of them and then it becomes a trick taking card game with a strategy element based on the point values possible for each color card and the card's position. This is a great game to be able to pick up and play with friends of all skill levels. In my regular game groups it can serve as a nice, shorter game between long sessions. In a more casual group, it's very accessible and easy to learn. I even was able to teach my 7 year old how to play (she won her first game even).I would recommend supporting a good company with a purchase of this game. It's fairly priced and entertaining.

Fun Addition to Game Night!
The box art looks pretty cool and I like how the background also appears inside the box itself... pretty neat. The cardboard feels nice and thick for the box but makes it a little difficult to open. You have to jiggle it then grip both the bottom and top to get the cover off. Hopefully this becomes easier once I break it in more. The contents are a manual and a pack of cards. There is a bit of background for the 'Xylotar' and then the directions. The directions were super easy to understand. Its has been fun to play and moves along pretty quickly with friends/family that are fans of music. Overall, we like it and would recommend.

Fun twist on trick-taking games
The rules took me a couple of reads to completely wrap my head around, but this is a fun game that's pretty easy to teach afterward. There's some trickiness and deduction at work though since you don't know what values are in the hand that you're playing initially. You start to figure it out as the game progresses. The theme isn't all that important to the game, however I still loved it and the story intro.
