I'll admit, I am a big fan of this company and have been using their cameras since 2017 (although I do have a lot of cameras from other manufacturers too!). If I have the funds available (I skipped the X2) I will always invest in their new release as they are continually raising their game with every product launch and the X4 is no exception. I don't publish a lot of my stuff as I film for personal reasons and memories but I have attached an animated photo that took of a dimly lit interior of a historic Scottish church. Lots of cameras would have struggled in these conditions but the X4 excelled! The animation was also extremely easy to do in the Insta360 Studio software which is provided free. I have mine paired with the Insta360 GPS preview remote so that if I have it mounted on a 3m pole I can easily see what is going on and start/stop recording a lot easier than having to hold a phone and do it (the remote can be wristmounted or attached to the pole). Used on its own, the camera is extremely easy to use. All of the automatic settings will give amazing results but if you want to dabble with the manual settings then you can get exceptional results. I have been involved in photography/videography for many years and would give you these tips: 1. Get to know your camera... make mistakes and learn from them. If you have an important occasion coming up that you want to record, then practise, practise, practise beforehand and double, if not triple check your settings before hitting record. 2. Think about your mounts if used on a vehicle. You will see a lot of people complaining about breaking their selfie-sticks - almost every time it will be because of bad practice and lack of understanding of physics. Think about leverage, vibration and if in doubt, tether! 3. Protect your glass. The X4 has removable lens protectors which should be used in an action environment. I have had eight 360 cameras over the years and have NEVER damaged a lens , even in action environments. From a photography background I have been brought up respecting my glass. I always shoot with a naked lens if I can as this gives best results but there are plenty of accessories available to help you if you are shhoting in a harsh environment. 4. Respect your camera - although advertised as an action camera, you should still respect it as a piece of photographic equipment and show it some care and respect. The number of posts I have seen about lenses being cracked/cameras being broken as the tripod they mounted on fell over is amazing. If you are looking at buying this as a first 360 camera then I absolutely recommend it. Easy to use and amazing, easily obtainable results. If you are looking to upgrade from an X3 then I would say yes too (I did!) The X3 is awesome but the X4 is awesomerer!

Best accessory I’ve ever purchased for my bike brilliant footage and easy to use

I had been eyeing up the X4 for quite some time; eventually I caved in and I'm so glad I finally have one now. It's a relatively small camera so it's not a hassle to carry around by hand it in a bag, then when you want to take a video/photo it takes only a couple of seconds for the gadgets to power up. The greatest thing about having a 360° camera is it's extremely hard to miss a shot as it covers almost every angle; this means I can just press record and worry about how it looks later. The only thing you need to be aware of are the blind spots, so I'd recommend pointing either lens directly towards your subject. I mainly edit my footage though the App rather than the desktop version as it's easier to use and has more customisability when it comes to edits. It might take several attempts but once you're used to the app, it becomes increasingly easy. As for picture quality, I think it looks great!

I upgraded from the Insta 360 One X2 to the Insta 360 X4. There is a vast improvement with the X4. The image quality is much better, the front screen is far easier to use and the battery life is better. Also the free editing app is superb and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this camera if you want to do 360 videos.

Likes: Really good quality camera that is relatively easy to use. The iPhone app works well for editing. A 512gb micro sd gives me 4 hours 30 mins of 8k 30 frames 360 video. The microphone quality is good. You don’t have to worry about missing anything as the 2 lenses capture everything. Dislikes: the Mac/Win studio software has very few features for editing. The camera gets SO hot when recording in max resolution especially in warmer weather. In my case it only once stopped recording at 34c heat in direct sunlight after 30 minutes. This also reduces the battery life. A second battery is recommended as I was getting just over an hour of recording. Editing footage on my iPhone causes it to overheat especially when editing larger files (IPhone 15 pro max). The files after editing are massive (3 minute edited video was 550 mb). Verdict: Price wise it is expensive and you will find yourself buying extra accessories for it. But overall I would recommend this camera.

Takes a bit of getting used to but after watching many utube videos it's an excellent bit of kit and will be perfect for my travels.

I have had numerous 360 cameras but the X4 now replaces the X3 with an. Improved processor that allows the two 4k sensors to work at an improved rate enhancing the quality of the images and video, frame rate improvement, in camera merging of the two halves data too. Overall improvements that offer a better experience. The X3 is still a well proven camera and this new X4 builds on that. The initial connection problem I had was due to the playstore update on the app which was rectified by installing the app from Insta instead. The other issue I had was with operating the capture button as it appeared to be working intermittently, however I found this was due to Bluetooth interference from the S22 and headset. Once I turned that off the X4 operated as expected. Very happy with the improvements.

Best 360 cam on the market and i don't need the 8k x5 it simply isn't any better for car shots

Took amazing shots that I could never do with my normal camera. Shots are clear, app is easy to use and edit. Watch YouTube for ideas on how to take more interesting shots

My mind is blown at the features this tiny camera packs. It literally captures a full 360, and you can get footage that you didn't think you were aiming at. Amazing. Quality on this is also great. Finally something that compares to the latest and greatest GoPros, but with better features.

Diese 360-Grad-Kamera ist nicht nur ein Stück Technik, sondern eine echte Erweiterung, um meine Bike-Abenteuerfestzuhalten! Was mich am meisten begeistert, ist die unglaubliche 8K-Auflösung bei 30 Bildern pro Sekunde. Wenn ich mir meine Aufnahmen später anschaue, ist das einfach phänomenal! Jeder Ast, jeder Stein auf dem Trail, die Details meiner Ausrüstung – alles ist kristallklar. Und das Beste: Ich muss mir keine Gedanken mehr machen, ob ich den perfekten Winkel erwischt habe. Ich filme einfach alles 360 Grad und suche mir später in Ruhe meine Lieblingsperspektiven raus. Die X4 ist wie gemacht für das Fahrradfahre. Sie ist robust und steckt Stürze oder Stöße locker weg. Auch Regen ist kein Problem, denn sie ist bis zu 10 Meter wasserdicht – ohne extra Gehäuse! Das größere 2,5 Zoll Touchscreen-Display ist super praktisch, um unterwegs schnell die Einstellungen zu checken oder einen Shot zu kontrollieren, selbst mit Handschuhen. Die Bedienung ist intuitiv, sodass ich mich voll aufs Fahren konzentrieren kann. Noch ein tolles Feature, der unsichtbare Selfie-Stick der die Kamera schweben quasi schweben lässt, als würde mich eine Drohne verfolgen. Man sieht den Stick einfach nicht! Zusammen mit der FlowState-Stabilisierung, die selbst die holprigsten Downhills in butterweiche Aufnahmen verwandelt, entstehen tolle Videos. Ein klare Kaufempfehlung!

Desde que compré el Pack Motero con la Insta360 X4 estoy encantado. La calidad de vídeo en 360° a 8K y 5.7 K a 60 fps o 4-K en modo lente única me permite grabar mis rutas con claridad y nitidez. La estabilización tipo “FlowState” es fantastica, el video va fluido, sin saltos y sin vibraciones. Los soportes incluidos en el pack ademas de indispensables son de muy buena calidad. Despues del salto de la X2 a esta merece la pena

Ho acquistato la Insta360 X4 per registrare i miei viaggi in moto e devo dire che è stata una scelta fantastica! Questa camera è incredibilmente compatta, ma non lascia nulla al caso in termini di qualità video. Le riprese in 360° sono spettacolari: ogni angolo viene catturato con una risoluzione super alta, il che rende ogni video estremamente immersivo. Anche con il vento forte e le vibrazioni della moto, la qualità dell'immagine è sorprendentemente stabile, grazie alla funzione di stabilizzazione avanzata. La qualità video in 4K è eccezionale e la nitidezza dei dettagli è davvero impressionante. È fantastico poter catturare ogni momento del mio viaggio senza preoccuparmi di cambiare angolazione o posizione della camera, grazie alla possibilità di riprendere tutto attorno a me. Inoltre, l’audio è sorprendentemente buono, anche con il casco, e riesco a sentire chiaramente la musica o la mia voce senza troppi rumori di sottofondo. L'installazione sulla moto è stata semplice, e il sistema di montaggio è solido e sicuro. Non ho mai avuto problemi con la stabilità della camera, nemmeno nelle situazioni più dinamiche. Inoltre, la batteria ha una durata eccellente, riuscendo a coprire anche le lunghe sessioni di registrazione senza bisogno di ricariche frequenti. Un altro punto a favore è la facilità d'uso. L'app Insta360 è molto intuitiva e permette di modificare e condividere i video direttamente dallo smartphone, senza dover passare per computer. Inoltre, la camera è resistente e ben costruita, quindi non devo preoccuparmi per le intemperie o per l'uso in condizioni difficili. In sintesi, la Insta360 X4 è una camera perfetta per chi cerca qualità, versatilità e facilità d'uso per le riprese in moto. Ogni viaggio diventa un'avventura da rivivere, grazie alla straordinaria qualità delle riprese. La consiglio assolutamente a chi vuole portare le proprie riprese in moto a un livello superiore!
