I’ve always carried a copy of the Pocket Havamal on my travels, but wanted something a little more substantial for my home library. This study Havamal is perfect! I’m blown away by the quality for the price. The three English translations make it much easier to get the full gist of the stanzas and the Old Norse is a nice addition. There’s plenty of room to write notes. The overall presentation is lovely. If you’re a practicing Heathen or just someone with passing interest in Norse culture, this is a must-have addition to your collection.

I love that there is ACTUALLY room to write in here! Love that it has three of the best English translation (Bray, Thropes, and Bellows) translations as well as the Old Norse. Has the translations on one page then a whole page for notes! It's hands down the best study Havamal I have ever had. I love that it has 3 different translations as I do bounce around on translations and see different views for each! This was actually my 2nd time ordering! Got one for myself and my husband, then ordered 1 for my friend. Will be ordering more in the future for sure!

Book is beautiful just what I ordered but the lower part of the cover and the first couple pages were bent up pretty badly.

When I started to read it it made me understand how to open my eyes to stuff I never thought of and very valuable life lessons

This book is awesome. Not only does it have the original old Norse text, but it has three translations of each passage and a facing page for you to take notes. It’s a wonderful trip through this “primary“ source material, and it gives you the option of adding your own interpretation based on those of earlier interpretations. That way, you make sense of something that was written long ago in your own way Basing it on the interpretations of three different translations, line by line.

Just received the book today and I'm so glad I decided on this one. It holds as a great size to read and give more than enough space for personal notes next to the original and 3 different translations to help the reader understand the message. One of my favorite reasons for these different translations is how after reading through a bit I realized I wasn't always aligned with a certain translation. I bounced around and favored randomly throughout the pages and I'm very thankful for this. Imo this purchase was worth every penny.
