Brilliant for adapting tv sound output
The device is brilliant, it's easy to connect. Ensure that the power light is on and the follow the instructions, my son has hearing problems and he now uses the head phones and has very good sound. Highly recommend good value.

I had to buy a new TV and was surprised to find the only audio output (apart from the built in speakers) was a digital/fibre optic port.The sound system I am using only has analog phono and 3.5mm headphone jack inputs.I didn't want to buy a new expensive digital sound system, when the one I have works perfectly fine, so I tried a HDMI 'audio extractor' but that only works on one HDMI input at a time and it could not be configured to detect the audio the TV was actually using, from any one of the three HDMI inputs or when streaming over wifi etc.I bought this digital to analog converter for a quarter of the price of the HDMI extractor and it works perfectly for my needs. It is small and compact and easily hidden behind the TV. It comes with reasonable lengths of HDMI, USB and fibre optic leads and the sound quality is excellent.Please note: This unit comes with a USB lead to power it, but no actual power plug, and if your TV is like mine with only one USB socket, you may have to buy a power plug or a USB splitter if you are using the USB to power something else at the same time.

Optical to analogue converter
Had some fab Bose speakers that I wanted to add to my TV in spare room. This just works! I was unsure but it is fabulous. Instructions helped me set this up in 10 minutes. Just had to change the sound settings on my TV as it does not support Dolby. The sound is infinitely better. Only downside is another device that needs powering from a USB A.

Handy converter to have around
Perfect for converting digital output to analogue and vice versa. It's one of those devices you don't realise you need until you've got two things with different connections. At just £11.99 this is very useful to have around and does a pretty decent job at keeping audio quality. The instructions make it easy to use and the volume knob is a great addition. This works perfectly and is a great solution for converting audio signals.
