The enclosure comes very well packaged so there is no chance of damage during delivery. Once the outer packaging has been removed it poses no problem at all to remove the single screw holding the rear lid in place. They also include a nifty little screwdriver for this purpose but one that fits neatly in your hand, not some miniature version you need to hold between your fingers. This is probably the only real negative thing I have to say about the product, the size. Just like the included screwdriver, the case is much larger than it needs to be. The SSD fits perfectly fine and was easy to install but there is a lot of empty space simply for the sake of empty space thus making the device larger and thicker than it needs to be when holding it and your phone in your hand The magsafe connection works great and holds the enclosure firmly in place. One minor issue I have with this device (which you would not see under normal use with your phone) is that when you use it as an external hard drive on your other devices you notice it doesn't seal 100% and this results in a blue light shining out of the case (in my case onto my Mac Mini, thus causing me to see 2 blue lights). As stated before, the lid is held in place with a single screw so there is no way to make it seal better along an adjacent edge so I just have to live with it. TL;DR: All and all I would say it was presented very well, was very easy to inject an SSD into, sticks firmly in place on the iPhone and works perfectly well with other hardware so I have no problems recommending this product

Works great but wish the plastic was not a glossy black. A matte finish option would be great. The magnet is strong!

** Update ** Orico customer service was very prompt and helpful. I will probably buy products from them again. ** Update ** I put an M.2 drive in and it works just as expected. My problems started when I tried to pull the enclosure off the steel ring it was mounted to. I pulled straight away from the surface and the whole plastic piece the magnet is attached to came off. Then, I grabbed that and pulled it away from the steel ring and the magnetic ring stayed behind. I can put all the pieces back together and it still works, but since the magnet keeps popping out of the plastic it's glued to, the adhesive is getting weaker all the time. Now it will just fall off randomly. At some point I'll put some glue in there, hopefully it will stop falling off. I own it now, so I'll probably get to a usable condition, but I would not buy this enclosure again.

Paired this with a 1TB ssd and can now shoot 2hrs+ on ProRes HDR

TBD if it is functional BUT item was USED and repackaged with scotch tape. Also missing internal mounting screw for drive. Vendor should NOT be selling used items as new. Included USB-C cable not compatible with Apple (as shown in pictures). Drive WOULD read and format on Win11 laptop and Android but never shows on Apple 15 ProMax. Swapped to Thunderbolt rated cable and 15 ProMax reads fine. Considering used condition noted above AND bad cable, returning for refund. For technical skills, I’m A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, IT and Networks certified.

As advertised but device difficult to open as cover was dented. Cover went hot after 15 mins usage. I used a 2Tb 2000Mbs SSD for testing. Silicon cover and heat transfer tape not recommended.
