Nemco 56500-1 1/4' Chop Easy Chopper II

Nice, heavy duty commercial chopper. It takes more force to chop vegetables than we expected. But I guess that's why you can lift the plunger so high and give it a good smack. My wife loves it. A real time saver.

The thing works great. Solid construction! Commercial kitchens use these; I have seen it. I use this to chop vegetables as tough as entire beet roots to those as soft as tomatoes. I am a young guy who likes to eat healthily but I can see this being excellent for someone with arthritis who still loves to cook. I only recommend dicing/slicing soft or stringy substances (e.g. cheeses or fresh herbs) if you plan on doing so in great quantities; cleaning these items out of the push block is a chore. Things like tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, peppers, et al. chop quickly and easily with this product. This item had a lot of expectations to live up to since I'd been eyeing it for years, and, all in all, I'd have to say it is totally worth the money.The chopper's blades are easy to clean; I simply spray them off with water and that seems to do the trick. However, the plastic push block is not easy to clean, and my one gripe is that I cannot find a 1/2", "only" push block since more crevices means a longer cleaning time. Also beware that you release a lot of energy at once with this sucker; so, if you live in an apartment with thin walls and shoddy countertops like I do, the next door neighbors will hear you pounding away.I would recommend buying this item because it will help you eat more healthily. Chopping up vegetables for stir fries or other vegetable-heavy dishes has gone from a chore to a simple, (fun), quick process! Combine healthy eating and time saved, and the product is more than worth the price charged.Bring the culinary results to a potluck dinner and ladies/lads shall be impressed with your fine chopping skills! ;-)

First and foremost - cleaning sucks :) However, you learn the tricks to doing so pretty quickly. It is still very much worth the price. I prefer petite diced as this allows more flavor in stews, soups or casseroles - so I purchased the 1/4 inch dice blade with mine. This works AWESOME. I don't care how good you are with a knife, I can dice up veggies, potatoes, mushrooms even walnuts faster than you could ever dream. I've used it on celery, mushrooms, walnuts, zucchini, cucumber, squash, bell peppers, onions,, potatoes, and chicken so far. I absolutely love it. Worth every penny..!!! Replacement parts are not cheap - so be sure to take care and clean properly after each use. It is extremely well made and heavy duty so I don't expect to need replacement parts anytime soon though.

This is a nifty tool for dicing vegetables. We bought one for each of our deli departments, and our employees absolutely love them. Great time saver over simply using a knife.

We use it to make middle eastern Salads. We chop cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, and onions. It takes only minutes what used to take hours. And everything is perfectly cubed.
