This doesn’t look sturdy at immediate purchase, however it holds weight! It’s nice and tall, and each shelf is completely stable and solid. It goes up easy, just follow the directions. As you can see, I store just about everything on it. So great for storage.

These shelves were exactly what I was looking for. I bought the 4 pack and ended up buying a 2nd 4 pack as I needed more. The 2nd 4 pack was slightly different from the 1st but just as good. If you are looking for heavy duty garage type storage shelves for a good price keep looking! These are light weight very flimsy shelves. They can definitely handle a significant amount of weight. They were not hard to build but do not move gracefully. I highly suggest building them as close as you can to where they are going to be used. I did have a couple pieces that were slightly bent. Again they are flimsy so it was very easy to bend them back. I would/will buy them again.

I got this for my home office. When we first moved in to our house, the room that is my office had a closet that was completely destroyed. We removed that closet, however, now I lack storage in my office. I decided to get this shelving unit for our tools and painting supplies for our house that is mid-remodel. It will help tremendously keeping my office organized until I put a closet back in. It is perfect for its purpose for the price. Considering I am on a raised foundation, we cannot put 2020 lbs in the footprint of this unit, so I was not looking for something that would actually hold that much weight. However, heed other reviews that state how flimsy this unit is. It really is flimsy, and I was unsure if it would stay together for me to move it to the corner I am using it in. I would NOT put anything heavy on the top 2 shelves, the unit is more unsteady the higher the shelves are. Unless you anchor it to a concrete wall or a stud, it won't hold anything heavy up top. However, all that aside, it is absolutely perfect for what I plan to use it for. It holds my 45lbs tool box perfectly on the bottom shelf along with my power tools, all my painting tools on the next one up, and miscellaneous lighter materials and items on the higher shelves. It is perfect for the price (including shipping, $50) and I probably won't exceed 250lbs on the unit. It is exactly what I needed. However, if you need a unit that will stand on its own and hold 500lbs+ or any weight on the top shelves, I HIGHLY recommend getting one that is much sturdier if you want it to stand on its own. If you anchor the unit it would probably be much sturdier.The unit comes in two pieces, a top piece and a bottom piece that are tied together with metal brackets with plastic fasteners. However, it can also double as 2 units stand-alone, one with 2 shelves and one unit with 3 shelves, or next to each other connected with fasteners provided with the same 2-shelf 3-shelf configuration, which I think would be much more stable than the 72" tall unit. That is a nice bonus, but I need the height for my current application. Because of the ability to use it as 2 shelving units, I may use one of these units in my storage shed in 2 pieces instead of buying 2 shorter units. I think the ability to configure as 2 units or 1 unit is really neat. It also adds to the lack of sturdiness in the 72" unit, so something to consider. I am using the unit against the wall in a corner, so it has walls on 2 sides. I don't think it could take a bump and not knock stuff off the upper shelves if it were not against the wall.Assembly was easy enough, and pretty intuitive. Once you get one shelf together it is just more of the same all the way up. It is hard to tell the direction to face the bars to put the shelf on in the instructions, but the flat part goes up, which is pretty apparent when considering the wood piece that fits inside.

It worked well until it got wet as rain hit it through the screened in back porch during a storm one time, a situation I thought id prepared for by applying adequately each individual shelves which is basically thin particle board. Now while the cheap , light, thin, tin, metal frame is intact and really adequate for its purpose I have zero shelves left of the cardboard like shelves. It worked well for the 6 months it was out of any real rain likened to a small spill on a shelve or two but only buy if you can guarantee it won't have ANY major spill like paint or gas or oil or water as the particle board even after being water treated just soaks up the liquid and the shelves become easier than cardboard to tear in two over night. Keep it. Dry and inside and it's a really good shelve bung light but sturdy and made of materials that allow it to be cheap as well. I'll be making actual wooden shelves for mine very soon and expect to have it a good while but as is 6 months in its a coat rack at best. I'll fix mine pretty cheap though and just make some shelves out of better material I'll keep dry for about $15 bucks and a little time which I actually advise anyone capable to do as soon as they get it. At the price it's sold at you can take the $15 you save on it and make shelves for it that make it outlast many of the shelves the next tier up from this one which are twice the price. It's a good shelve but it will take another $15 and a bit or effort to make it a great shelve that lasts more than a year or two which I gotta do.

Easy to setup and install, i needed more then 5 shelves so i bought 3 sets and used the extra set to have 7 shelves across two units, these are so cheap i dont understand why people are complaing about it only having 5 shelves, anyway these where perfect for what i needed them for but i would not call them heavy duty, but they are sturdy when you get them all put togther, for the cons it would be it nice if the shelves where just a little thicker to sit flush as there is a raised lip around the edges, 1/4 thick plywood would be a pefect fit if you wanted to replace them with something stronger, i also liked the dowles they included for linking two togther as it adds extra stablity and makes them perfectly symmetrical for us OCD guys

Great shelving for the price. They are very adaptable and can hold a lot. However, the shelves can be a little finicky when you're trying to slot them in. I recommend using a real rubber mallet, not the ones it comes with. I'm actually about to order a fourth one. They are very versatile and sturdy.
