Easily overwhelmed
I replaced a 220 V 1.5 hp pump with this one and, after a few days, it is clear that it is not effective. At first, it kept overheating and turning itself off. It would go for 15-30 minutes and then stop. The pump is in the south Texas sun and my research told me that it was a protective mechanism (never necessary with my four previous pumps). So....I altered the times so that it only runs at night. It is no longer overheating but there are other issues. The second issue is that this thing loses its prime as soon as a few leaves get in the basket. And I'm talking less than a small handful (see pic). The design of the pump basket is such that the inflow and outflow are directly across from each other. So any leaf or flower petal (I'm talking 1/4" here) goes straight across the basket and attaches to the other side. I have a tree over a part of my pool (previous owner's idea) so the pump needs to be able to manage a few leaves when they get pulled into the main drain. Again...this was never a problem for any of my previous pumps. It typically takes less than an hour for this to happen. And yes, I vacuum my pool often so there are not a bunch of leaves swirling around...just a few. Once the thing is clogged, it loses its prime, makes way more noise than when first turned on (it's quiet with good flow initially), and blows bubbles through the system. Finally, there is no way to get to the impeller, should grass or tiny leaves make it past the filter basket. The easy fix when that happens is to just pull them out and unfreeze the impeller. Given that you can't get to that, this pump would fail soon.I was just going to purchase the extended warrantee (which I did, after one day of trying it out) and hope for the best, but, between having to only filter at night and having to constantly clean out the pump basket, it is evident that keeping this would be more trouble than the money I saved by going with a less expensive brand. I will be returning and seeking something more capable.

Interesting Purchase
Needed to replace a pool pump that was about 10 years old. Found this and figured it would be interesting to try it out. I did purchase warranty just in case but it has been in more than a month and works great. I run it about 6 hours a day in a salt water pool.It is dealing with the elements well so far, I am in Florida so it rains and it’s humid often. Not bad so far.

So far, so good
I’m a new homeowner as of this past winter and it came with a pool I opened for the first time. I had a friend come help set up the 2 speed pump and lines along with showing how timer box worked. All was good for a month until the water went cloudy these past couple days but not for lack of chemical maintenance and upon inspection of the pump noticed the basket housing was cracked on the bottom. Received this new 1.5hp single speed pump and after many hours of mixing and matching old and new fitting pieces and trips to Home Depot it’s up and working great. Also figured out my water level was about an inch low after pulling my hair out trying to find a non existent air leak on suction side I thought was causing air to enter the system. The old pump was an Aquapro Systems and was able to mate this to existing setup using a rubber elbow from pump to filter tank that I’ll replace with PVC eventually.

Solid pump for a fraction of the price of more well known brands
I took a chance on this, after owning mostly Hayward pumps for over 25 years now. 3 different homes, 3 in-ground pools that I close and maintain myself.I'm blown away because it works ever better than my previous pumps. I MUCH prefer the basket cover to the awful design of the Hayward super pump series (and some others). This thing cost 1/4 and even 1/6th of many other pumps. I'm so glad I took a chance on it.I've only had it for one season (that's only 3 months in New England), and it's held up well so far.The basket design internally does seem to get clogged faster than previous pumps and can really restrict water flow, so just check it more often. It's faster and easy to open and close thanks to the twist top design. Other pumps I had had two hand turn screw bolts. Hated those!I did have to change the wiring to be compatible with my power box and my timer. I could not use the plug. Had to hard wire it in.I use this with 30k gallon in-ground pool. So far so good!

Great buy for the price!
So we were about to sell our house and our pump broke. We were quoted over $600 to replace our pump and I just couldn't justify that knowing we weren't going to use it. We bought this to get the house sell ready and it worked perfectly. It was quiet, had good pressure to go through our sand filter and back into the pool with minimal bubbles. Definitely a great value for our money.
