OK. I'm a magician and plan to use this as a prop. I needed something tha t looks good and whose sound would allow me to weave a story. It looks better than it did in the photos. I assumed it might take a bit of practice to get the thing to sound properly. It did, but not an onerous amount. I left it on the kitchen table and picked it up and worked with it for five to ten minutes every once in a while. It didn't take too long to get its high tone consistently--a little longer to get its lower tone, which is the better sound. Be aware that there is no Eastern tradition of using this type of object for meditation. As one who has done meditation in the past, I would think that the effort and concentration needed to keep the sound going would be a detriment to the meditative state. However, I think it would be a fun conversation starter at a party, or gathering of friends. It might also be useful musically as an ostinato instrument or percussion instrument (it has a very nice sound when struck by the beater).

Was a gift for my wife, she loved it! So much cheaper price than the ones in the store, and well made and packed. It could use felt on the hammer, but that's easy to add, and works well without it.

The tone is beautiful but the bowl itself is stunning!! I'm going to buy more just to set out around the house, they're that pretty.

This singing bowl has the most beautiful sound! I love it! I'd recommend it for anyone!
