Great for lower voiced people
I had purchased this particular microphone because I tend to have a lower voice when speaking, so my understanding of this microphone was that it was good for this. Sometimes I feel like I'm yelling if people can't hear me in even mid-sized rooms. This would also apply to many other microphones I had tested, as many could not catch the bassy voices.-My first intent was to use this for only my studio vocals, but I had also been using it for recording training videos and group meetings. It did a wonderful job catching all of the mens voices in the background (from the face of the microphone).-Rounds out voices and background sounds very nicely and does remove a ton of bit-ness that a lot of microphones tend to have for higher sensitivity.-I did also purchase the shock mount (ADK Microphones Shock Mount, S-51) which did help a lot when I had used the smaller desk stand.-It does come with a stand mount connector and a very nice interior padded wood box with a latch.-I do sometimes have an issue with the sensitivity of the unit after plugging it in. I would sometimes have to play with the 14db gain switch to get it to catch more sound. Not a big deal though since it's only sometimes.-It would also drop from the 14db gain to a lower sensitivity during recording, but again, only sometimes. (this might actually be my M-Audio Pre-amp's fault though?)-I would recommend also purchasing a pop filter, as it is sensitive to this.Overall, Was exactly what I wanted and is a wonderful feature in any studio.(Seller: Shipping was on time and packaged properly)

A Little Disapointed
Not a bad mic for a lower range voice, perhaps. But forget about it you're a tenor with with some sibilance. The microphone is reported to reduce sibilance, but I found this to not be the case. The sibilance I get with this mic is beyond ridiculous. It's also way too airy and lacks weight in the mids. Use the same cash and get the CAD M179. Far better.

ADK Hamburg MK 8 is AWESOME!
This is a GREAT mic! After recording in studios for more than 10 years I finally started putting together my own studio. When researching for a mic I read Brandon Drury's review (at Recording Review) so I contacted ADK about the differences in some of the mic models. To my surprise I heard back from the owner of the company, Larry Villella, with some specs but also his personal thoughts. What I was most impressed with was, in my usual over-researching of any gear purchase, Larry treated me as though I am a professional studio, not just a home enthusiast (with visions of grandeur). When the mic came in I set up time at other studios to do comparisons with mics I really love (that cost considerably more $$$ - outside my budget) and it matched or exceeded those other mics in every way. I use this primarily for vocals and acoustic guitar and it is fantastic! I am totally impressed with this mic and with this company.
