Kryptonite New York Standard Lock with Flex Frame U-Bracket - Yellow, Standard Shackle

This has not been attacked, but appears to be really strong, well made and thought through. It replaces a more expensive Abbus Granit lock that after many years, the key got sticky and broke. This seems to me to be an upgrade in terms of material, build and quality, it has a small plastic sliding "gate"to keep dirt out of the keyhole (which was the led to the eventual demise of my Abbus). It comes with three keys (reassuring on such a tough lock), two of them are ultra small and lite in weight the third has a lED light built in that works well, although I do not use it as I like to keep things minimal and this key is a bit more bulky. Size wise, the lock is perfect, not too long or too narrow - it fits over the rim and tyre of a front wheel of a motorbike or would provide close protection for a bicycle frame against a railing - meaning lever style attacks would be difficult. I like the holder attachment, when used correctly, it works very well. I might buy a second lock for permanent placement and (the silver holder part on the U-lock can be removed which I also like). In a perfect world, I would love to be able to buy two locks with same key - so the extra colour option is helpful for identification if two are used.

This lock screams 'have a go if you think you're hard enough!!'. Premium look and feel. Weighty and really sturdy. The lock is able to be concealed by the sliding cover and is easy to lock/unlock. The key has a nice little light on it too. There is no way this 'bad boy' is coming off once attached - unless with a heavy duty tool and even then it will take some doing. Provides some reassurance that it will likely deter any 'would-be' opportunist. I couple it with a heavy duty chain lock too. Would definitely recommend.

This is one tough little lock. A bit heavy and bulky so you might want to use the clip that comes with it to attach to the bike frame, rather than in your rucksack. Unfortunately my frame is too thick and there’s no way to attach it - so I have to ride with it in a rucksack which isn’t great. Sturdy as hell - and the lock closes to avoid it rusting. Good price for a quality lock. I haven’t been robbed yet - so it must be working. Update: I was robbed. It didn’t work

I bought the Kryptonite New York Lock because I wanted a strong lock for my motorbike. When I received it, I could see the quality was good. The lock feels heavy and solid, and the yellow colour is easy to see, which I think helps stop thieves before they try anything. The standard shackle size works well for locking my bike to metal rails. The flex frame holder is useful too, so I can carry the lock on my bike when I ride. But to be honest, I feel this lock is too expensive. Yes, the build quality is strong, and it feels secure, but the price is much higher than I expected for a bike lock. I know it’s a good brand and gives good protection, but for me, the high price makes it hard to recommend to everyone. Using the lock is easy. The keys turn smoothly and the shackle opens and closes without problems. I feel safe leaving my bike locked with it, which is the most important thing.

This lock has a guarantee and it is very heavy duty so I can lock my bike - which I sometimes need to leave overnight - without worrying that it can be easily stolen. It has a very shiny rubber coating to reduce scratches to my frame. I managed to attach the lock bracket but was a little restricted by my frame size. The bracket allows multiple positions and I fit it behind my saddle in the end. Due to this position where it is suspended above the back wheel, it can slip and press my mudguard into my wheel. To avoid this I use a small Velcro strap wrapped under my saddle to ensure it stays sitting high.

Very good lock, the mount is useless though. It's a big lock so it doesn't mount anywhere properly on my bike. I also tightened up the mount on the lock and it still didn't mount properly. If there is a large opening in the centre of your frame, you would probably be able to mount it fine, but not the case with my mountain bike. The weight of the lock will just make it fall sideways, unless it's hanging. I just carry it hanging on my handlebars or in a backpack. But that doesn't take away from the great rating of this lock. I definitely feel assured that my bike will be safe with this lock. Its a very hefty lock and after reading/watching reviews, you aren't going to be able to break it without angle grinders. Definitely worth the money if you live/work in a big metro area.

Heavy quality build but heavy for the road bike. I cycle an expensive 54 cm road bike and this is not ideal for attaching to the bike if U have a water bottle attachment on the inside of the main frame. I also tried to connect it to the back side of the bike and my heel clipped the attachment...The attachment to mount it to the frame is decent but quite bulky. She be a heavy lock but needed for that level of security.

Great sturdy lock, really pleased with it. I read previous reviews so was aware that there’s a rattle - the rattle comes from the lock itself, not the mount. The mount is really sturdy and easy click on, click off. The rattle itself is noticeable but I tuned out from it really quickly and often have music on quietly which helps. Luckily this fits (just) within the frame of my bike and with it resting under the top bar it doesn’t rattle, but I imagine on smaller frames it would be an issue. I’m really pleased, and it definitely feels like a sturdy lock, not worried about leaving my bike with this lock, compared to many others tried in the past.

Recently bought an expensive bike and with this luck i can finally feel at peace to leave my bike alone for around 15 minutes to do my groceries, but the mount that you put on the bike already came loose within 5 days and is basically useless.

Il parait que c'est le meilleur selon les tests des revues spécialisées. Très lourd et résistant. Je suis content car s'adapte parfaitement à ma trottinette. Le système de port est très pratique. Je suis content de mon achat.

Unfortunately my bike lasted only 1 month before getting stolen within 3 hours in the middle of the day while it was locked with this lock on university campus. No parts of the lock or the bike were left. Not sure how they can open a lock like this but they definitely can. My office window is also just above the bike storage where I left my bike and I didn't hear or see anything strange. I assume they might have a way of picking the lock.
