Weird problem here: my yoga mats tend to get used by my cat as a claw sharpening device, and even rolling it up after every use didn't fix the issue. So I had a couple of clawed up yoga mats I was about to throw out and just...resign myself to that very un green cycle when I came across this yoga rug.My old ratty mats are now the underlayer, and I toss this down on top. I've had no problem with grip, and while it's not tee-shirt soft, it's not unpleasantly rough, either, under the hands and feet. I have washed it a few times--cold water, delicate---and hung it out on the back porch to dry, and thus far it has held up like new.Now, I have a sustainable, useful, cat-friendly option for my practice, one that looks pretty and inviting rolled up or left out. I'm absolutely sold on yoga rugs and this is a great entry level option.

This thing really works beautifully. I purchased it because I asked my yoga teacher if she knew of a solution for people like me who sweat profusely during yoga and wind up sliding around on a regular yoga mat like it's a slip and slide. She suggested and an ashtanga rug and I was pleasantly surprised to find that this does provide a more stable surface for people like me. It seems very well made, has held up at least to the few classes I've used it for, and hopefully will last a good long while.And that's also kind of the catch, though: until you sweat on it a bit, it's actually a little more slippery than a standard yoga mat. Not much, but a little.Overall a great product. I'd but again in a heartbeat.Update: had this for a good while now (a year-ish?) And it's held up really well. I've only washed it by hand (sloshed it around in a big bucket of soapy water) so I can't say how it holds up to a lot of machine washing, but it seems plenty sturdy.A few notes on use:- as I noted above, it's fairly slippery until it's a bit damp. You don't have to use your sweat; you can sprinkle a bit of water on it from your water bottle and spread that around and that will do the trick nicely.- if you do yoga on a hard wood or tile floor you'll still need a standard yoga mat to keep it from sliding around or bunching up. If you're doing your practice outside on grass or sand or inside on carpet, this is all you need.I love this thing and I would certainly purchase again.

I like this for so many reasons. First of all, it just feels really good to practice on natural fibers. I was a little worried that I would slide too much because a yoga rug isn't sticky and you rely on your own strength to keep your limbs properly positioned and in place. If they air is very dry, it is a little bit more challenging however with just a tad of humidity in the air you don't slide across the rug. My yoga studio has spray bottles with mat cleaner and if it's particularly dry in there, I will spray the front and back down just a little bit. It's so nice to be able to just throw this in the washing machine. And they really do wash up pretty nicely although I'll warn you they don't dry very fast. Overall this was one of the best purchases for my yoga practice that I've ever made and the price is amazing. I wasn't sure if I was going to like switching from a yoga mat to a yoga rug so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I liked this so much I bought a second one.

I've been using my "Bliss Peak Cotton Yoga Rug" every morning for both meditation, where I fold it up to sit on + my yoga practice at home. I also use it when I go to yoga class & place it over the studios' synthetic plastic yoga mats. To be doing poses on a sustainable natural cotton material truly feels better! Weaving is tight. It isn’t thin or light weight. It rolls up like a regular yoga mat. It is longer and wider than a regular size yoga mat. It is attractive looking and seems to feel decent under my palms and feet. It moves on smooth flooring but using a regular yoga mat underneath it would stay put. Even if I don’t use it to practice yoga I can use it as a runner rug. It says that it is machine washable but considering the stiffness from tight weave, I am not sure if it would shrink too much to curl up edges and corners, making it not able to lay flat again.

I use this rug every I have a yoga session. It is durable and holds up to multiple machine washes (I hang dry it). The length is great as it is longer than all of my yoga mats.

Although I have owned and used many rugs for my mediation and yoga practice, this product has survived the longest. The resilient quality and craftsmanship makes for a sturdy weave with a soft finish that has traveled over a variety of terrains and climates over the years. It is easy to clean, dries quickly, transports either folded or rolled and makes for a vital piece of equipment when venturing into the depths of one’s personal voyage into yoga & mediation, no matter the setting or surface. Good quality product, washing it made a huge difference in grippiness. Just make sure you lay flat to dry!
