Good value travel Wi-Fi – works well and stable connection
Overall, I’m happy with this MiFi router and think it’s good value for money. At first, when I used it with a Lebara SIM at Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, the connection speed was a bit slow — but I’m pretty sure that was down to the location and network coverage rather than the device itself. Later, I used it in Vienna and it worked really well. Devices connect easily, the signal is stable, and I had no issues staying online. Battery lasts pretty much all day or you can have it plug in to power supply constantly. For a low-cost, unlocked portable router, it does exactly what it should. Reliable, easy to use, and great for travel.

Easy to set up and use. Buy it!
I ordered a one month unlimited data micro usb card to go with this hub and, after charging the ZTE U10S Pro, inserted the micro usb card following the instructions that came with the unit. After inputting the password I was able to link it to my phone and iPad easily and access the internet. We took it on holiday and it performed perfectly, often having four devices linked to it at once. Easy to set up and fast enough for streaming videos it is an excellent standalone piece of kit. Recommended for ease of setup and use. A great buy!

Decent value for the money
Overall, very pleased with this product so far. It does exactly what I wanted from it. It was relatively simple to set up. I'll share some tips now. 1. Don't fuss yourself with the Smarty SIM. There's no instructions on how to activate the one that came with it. The link I followed led to a new SIM being dispatched and I had to complain to Smarty to get it cancelled. 2. You'll need to activate whatever SIM you go for in a phone. There's no means that I could find to activate it in the unit. 3. Getting the SIM in and out is quite fiddly and I could see how it might even lead to damage. So be careful. I went with a Lebara SIM in the end. Best speed I've had on full signal is about 30Mbps. WiFi range I've found is OK. Generally good between rooms on the same floor. A bit wobbly between floors. Power consumption isn't what it says. Between 4-6 hours depending on usage I've found. Does get a bit warm in constant use. I got this as a home office backup and I'm confident it will bridge any outage gaps in out main Internet connection.

Great for WiFi home and abroad
This is great, got this for travelling at home and abroad and it’s honestly brilliant. Easy to set up, light and portable and the signal strength has been really good. Good value for money.

Good in some ways, bad in others…
The battery life in the ZTE U10S Pro is very good but the overall speed is very appalling in some cases such as coverage and signal strength where the ZTE U10S Pro will have lower coverage than a phone. Take in mind that this is 4G so speeds will be very low compared to 5G. Normal web browsing and video streaming is good but intense tasks such as downloading apps or remote playing on Xbox or PlayStation will of course be unbearable. I am unsure if a 4G phone will be better than the ZTE U10S Pro however, the build quality is great and sturdy and replacing the battery and taking off the back lid is easy. Just don’t expect a lot from the ZTE U10S Pro but when on trips etc. it can come in handy or if you are with family.

Easy to set up, seemingly with any nano SIM
Model: U10S Pro Blue Although this comes with a Smarty SIM card (which uses the Three network) ready to register for a suitable plan, I initially tested it with a Giffgaff SIM card from my phone (using the O2 network) and it just worked. Connected to wifi, got internet through the SIM, no problem. Where this one is required, though, is a location where EE gives far better coverage than the other networks, so I ordered a spusu SIM with 10GB data plan. Not a data-only SIM, just an ordinary phone SIM. That arrived and worked straight away. Note that spusu's Ts+Cs have a rule barring use "as an alternative to home broadband", but this rule (still in force in September 2025) pertains only to "unlimited voice, texts and data" plans, which a 10GB plan is obviously not. Power comes from an internal 3000mAh LiPo battery, but it also has a USB-C connector on the bottom edge, used for both charging the battery and providing extended runtime either from mains or a power bank. Although it comes with a small charging cable I've used a right-angled 2 metre cable which lets me balance the U10S Pro upright on a sash window to maximise 4G signal reception. The nano-SIM slot is under the battery, note that to release the SIM there are two slightly raised prongs just below the slot; push these down with one fingernail and a second fingernail can be used to nudge the nano-SIM down over them. The U10S Pro's front panel controls are basic, but give you enough information to get you connected. If you need to log into the web interface, the password is under the lid. Top tip for opening the lid: use the outer plastic of a full-sized SIM (the credit card-sized bit) in the slot on the edge. The web interface gives some more information (including cell signal strength, ID and so on) and control, allowing you to set the data bundle limit which will then be reflected in the on-screen display, the power output of the wifi (less power = more battery life), the channel used and so on. It's got SMS send/receive functionality via the web interface but I've not been able to test this successfully; although it received two automatic messages from spusu, a test message sent to two mobile numbers didn't come through. One thing missing is the ability to keep the screen on when running on USB power, hopefully something that gets added in a future firmware release as it'd be nice to have an at-a-glance view of speed and usage without having to poke the buttons on it. Another feature only partly-implemented is the data bundle warning limit, where you can set a percentage at which point it will notify you "somehow", but doesn't have any settings to do anything useful like fire off a text message alert.

Not good
Kind of rubbish. It overheats and after 20-30 minutes just gets stuck. Not a useful tool if you are planning to use it for a longer period of time.
