Good book must for literature students.. Go grab it

The copy is really great for the price. I would like it hardbound but nothing can get this cheap. Else stick with second hand. They too make an excellent choice.

It's definitely not for everyone.... but it's a great novel to pick.... It's a different genre...

It's good in that it contains important points on the various issues in the text and also has comments of some critics. A good book to begin with the criticism of Sons and Lovers. Adequate if you are a do-it-at-the-last-moment kinda student, but you need to explore other essays and books if you want a detailed analysis.

This was a fine story by D.H. Lawrence who has written about the strong and emotional relationship of a son and his mother. All the pain and yearning that the mother endures for her children is beyond the understanding of an individual. This story can be really relatable for a person where one goes through one's daily life, one's work, one's relationship. This book can sit happily on a person's reading list and one will thoroughly enjoy the passionate love scenes and the mood swings of the characters! About the Amazon product - 5 stars, immaculate packaging, on time delivery, best seller and sincere delivery man. Just go for this product!

This edition has printed Lawrence's original text rather than the expurgated version. The author's reputation has waxed and waned over the decades, but the consensus is that Sons and Lovers is a work of outstanding merit. A working class mining community in Nottinghamshire is superbly depicted. The mines are on the edge of unspoiled countryside which results in nature being a integral part of the novel. Lawrence's ability to describe the natural world is unsurpassed. However, the core of the book is loving relationships including a sexual dimension which was controversial 100 years ago. The principal character is a perfect example of the Oedipus Complex which results in his failing to establish lasting relationships with women other than his mother. Sons and Lovers merits it's reputation!
