This is, without a doubt the best hair oil I've ever used. Let me tell you why: FIRSTLY After doing an extensive research about my condition called seborrheic dermatitis, I found out I shouldn't be using any hair products that contain common hair oils like: coconut, olive, avocado, castor, jojoba, etc. I had been using Olaplex bonding oil along with another hair oil from Sally's for years, but I had to stop using them because they both contain some of those oils I mentioned. I started looking on Amazon for hair oils / hair oil serums without any of those oils and I almost gave up until I found this Dove serum. To my surprise, this only contains Apricot Oil, which is perfect for my condition, and I ordered it right away. Today, it's been 2 months since I started using this oil serum and so far, it hasn't trigger my seborrheic dermatitis' symptoms! SECONDLY This oil serum smells incredibly good! It's easy to apply. The consistency is not thick like most silicone-based hair oils but it's definitely not as runny as Olaplex Bonding Oil! I personally find it perfect. It doesn't leave my hair greasy. It feels very lightweight on the hair and gives me the shine of my dreams (look at my photos, which, by the way, are not retouched and I do want to say that I have the same balayage from 7 months ago on ALL photos! The photos with the pink and black shirts are after I applied this Dove oil serum. On the other photo I don't have products on. As you can see, the difference is impressive!). It controls my frizz. Honestly, I have received 10 out of the 10 benefits they advertise! THIRDLY I've used this serum with both wet and dry hair and it works great both ways for me. When I use it on dry hair I like to divide my hair in half and apply 2 pumps on each one. When I use it on wet hair I like to do 3 pumps on each one because I mainly use it as a heat protector before hair drying it. If I decide to air dry it, then I do 2 pumps on each. But I have been doing an intensive repair treatment to my hair once a week for the past two months and it has given me great results so I would like to share it with you all: - I thoroughly wash and rinse my hair twice. - I squeeze it very gently but making sure there's no excess water (or you're most likely to waste all products!) and divide my hair in half. - Then I put some of my Olaplex hair mask; quarter size (any intensive repair mask should work just fine) on the palm of my hand, then I add 3 pumps of this Dove serum and lastly, I add 3 pumps of my leave-in conditioner. I rub my hands and apply it to one half from middle to ends. I repeat this step to the other half of my hair. - After applied, I grab my hair brush (hopefully you use one that doesn't break your hair; I personally use the "Tangle Teezer") and start detangling my hair starting from ends towards the top to avoid breakage. - Leave on for at least 5 minutes, 10 minutes for more intense repair and hydration! - Rinse well - Lastly apply conditioner as usual (yes, conditioner goes after your hair mask!) - Rinse and enjoy the most soft, hydrated hair of your life! you're welcome. LASTLY I'm very happy about my results with this oil serum. It is truly an amazing product for an incredibly affordable price! Do not be like "a little goes a long way" on this one, especially if you have color treated hair like I do! Trust me, your hair NEEDS this serum and if you use a little, you're not going to achieve the results you want. You want to apply it morning and night, do the intensive repair treatment and you're going to notice significant changes in a short amount of time. I'm forever sold on this product. Totally worth the money! *Last tip: Before going to bed, detangle, apply the serum, divide the hair in half and do one braid on each side. This will prevent friction during the night and you're going to wake up with almost the same beautiful waves I'm showing on my photos.

Keep reading for full pro and con list, but be warned, you'll wanna buy it and sniff your fingers like Molly Shannon in Superstar, and you can't say I didn't warn you... Pros: Smells amazing. Easy to work with on palms to focus on ends and lower length of hair, as it's not too thin or thick serum. Noticeably improves frizz reduction, smooths texture, and adds a little shine. Seems like it improves hair health over several weeks of use, less split ends noticed. Helps tame volume immediately after a blow dry session. Dispenser quality is good, and easy to pump how much you need. Cons: if used on hair above neck or close to scalp, it makes hair look oily after only 24-48hrs. Overall: Amazing value for the money, and if you keep it away from your roots, no complaints at all!

I'm early 30's with fine hair that's anywhere from 2C to 3B depending on where the dice fall that day. Hair oil is right church wrong pew- too heavy, greasy, clumpy. This serum genuinely surprised me not because it does what it says it will, but how well it does it. Even though I have a pixie cut I use two pumps out of the recommended maximum three because of how dry my hair is. My hair doesn't get oily or weighed down, it dries glossy, hydrated and healthy and *still* has the flex to add a styling cream or gel if I want more texture. I air dry the majority of the time, but I have tested this with a blow dryer straight to the dome, no diffuser, and it was similarly brilliant. During and after drying it moves well with a brush and doesn't show any signs of flaking. I've used it every time after showering for weeks now, and judging by the amount in there I won't need to repurchase for at least another six months. Seriously well formulated at an actually affordable price point.

This is definitely a hair oil and not a serum. Only buy this if you are looking for a silicone-y hair oil! Works really well for my straight, very high porosity hair. It is practically impossible for me to overapply this hair oil. I use this as the oil step in the LOC (liquid, oil, cream) method. Smells nice and traditionally haircare-like.

This stuff really works. Leaves hair silky and frizz free and super shiny without feeling oily at all! Price is pretty good too for amount of product you get. I also bought the bond shield that i have not tried yet. But i already know I’ll like it. Very easy to use
