Know what you're buying
I bought 4 of these drives over a couple of weeks - two initially, followed by two a couple of weeks later. The first two turned up quickly well packaged. Popping them in a USB dock I ran them through CrystalDiskInfo - it confirmed both disks were brand new and had never been used!My happiness was short-lived since one disk was showing a SMART error and the other was incredibly noisy, making a slow repetitive knocking sound. It basically sounded as if the disk was about to fail, which didn't fill me with confidence. I asked for a second opinion from a friend and they agreed that there was something not quite right. These were then replaced by two disks that took longer to arrive - it appeared they were coming from France/Germany. These disks were packed differently in smaller boxes and arrived separately; they both had plenty of foam and were in sealed antistatic bags. These disks had both been used for varying periods of time. However, they were markedly quieter and had no SMART errors.[disks with a capacity higher than 8TB tend to be a bit noisier in my experience, and these EXOS drives are no exception, that said they're quiet enough in operation... but I probably wouldn't put my NAS in my bedroom!]Both disks are now living in a Synology DS423+ and are performing well!I've included screenshots of CrystalDiskInfo so you can compare with yours if you order these disks.I am very pleased with the disks, and for the price they were an absolute bargain! Highly recommended.

Excellent Value & Quality
Excellent Value - it's worth noting that despite the label of being "Quiet" - their noise will largely depend on what you're putting them in & how they're used. I'd say they're still louder than consumer grade HDD's, especially when not in a high end PC case (with better insulation for both sound and vibration).Read/Write speeds are exceptional, and I've not had any issues with them, despite being used when I got them (unlike some reviewers, these had clearly been used for extended periods of time). Great backup drives, or just if you want a cheap high capacity drive that isn't dodgy.

12TB drive dead
Had the drive installed for 5 months and it's died. The drive has always been worryingly noisy, but running Seatools showed the drive as being "OK" running tests. It started going offline randomly a couple of days before it finally died, unfortunately before I could buy another drive, so loads of data now lost.I personally will not be buying a "Refurbished" drive again.

No problems so far. Really happy.
I've had 2 of these running in a mirror since October '24, so far without a problem. No failures or dataloss.Capacity is 10.82TB, as with all manufacturer 's advertised HDD capacity, they use a different way of counting the MBs than us normal folk.Read speeds are solid - As an example, copying a 5GB ISO from a NAS with these drives in (over a 2.5GB connection), the drive reads at a consistent ~210MB/s. Not bad at all.Great for storage, archiving and backup..... Not really recommended for use as an OS drive or for gaming...That's not really what HDDs are for these days.Easy installation, as with all HDD's.... plug the cables in and you're good.Packaging was really good. No concerns when they arrived. The drives are a tad noisy, but I don't care.... they have a bit of grunt to them like no HDD i've heard.Wouldn't hesitate to purchase more refurbished drives when the time comes!

Works well and zero issue, a little noisy though
I have used this 12TB 7200 drive in my NAS for our LAN for over two months now. It is accessed daily and used to store and transfer media files.I was a little concerned in buying a refurbished drive at first, even with all the data backed up elsewhere. However this drive has been perfect. Zero issues or concerns and no undue noises that should not be expected. The NAS, for us, is up in our loft and if this drive was being used in the same room as we sit it would then be considered a little noisy. Not too loud, but enough to be noticeable with typical hard drive clicks and whirs. But it is a little noisier when I compare this to other mechanical drives, hence a one star reduction.Very pleased with how the drive arrived and how it has worked so far. If that changes I will amend this review.RecommendedHope this has helped.

Fast and Quiet, Excellent!
I was after a lot of space for music and files and I leave my PC running most of the time so I thought an NAS or Server drive would be perfect for me. At the time I was thinking of space not speed and Im so glad I bought this because its much faster than my 8tb 5400 rpm drive which goes asleep all the time and takes time loading files in folders every time I click in a folder and this NAS Drive is a massive difference compared to it. So I'm Extremely Happy with this.

As advertised, came with 0 hours and 0 bad sectors.
I was a bit dubious given how cheap these drives are. A quick google reveals they are pre exos drives, and when they arrived the dates on the drives were 2019. They had a light mark or two on them but nothing to worry about. I initially bought one to try and installed it in my synolgy. It isn't on the official supported list but it works as it should, shows drive health and 0 hours, 0 bad sectors. After my storage pool was repaired and up and running again, i ordered another one. I can only assume they are unused old stock, maybe removed from unsold servers but for the price i am over the moon. Bonus that they seem to run quieter than my much more expensive Synology branded enterprise drives.

So Far So Good
Initially worried about the cheap price I nabbed one of these for my unRaid server. After new config and setting up my shares I looked at the smart details, brand new! Result! So I have another on one the way, if that pans out I’ll be grabbing 2 more!
