Great for Therapy
My husband had surgery on his hand and lost alot of his strength. The doctors had something similar when he went to therapy and he loved it so when I saw this I had to get it for him .

Can’t replace battery on this model
Update: The company contacted me and sent me one that can be recharged, so I’ve given an additional star for great customer service. If you care about being able to recharge, then look for and buy that model.I’m going to add another star to go to five, because of the shape and feel of this grip strengthener. While I waited for the replacement, I’ve been using the balls I have for strengthening grip. However, I think there is an advantage in the football like shape of this one. It fills my hand better than a sphere, and I think that will work better than the balls in the long run. That said, I do have smaller hands, so folks with larger hands may experience that differently. The new one, like the old, also gives an inconsistent reading, because it’s highly dependent on finger placement. So if that bothers you, this isn’t the product for you. I don’t mind so much, because I’m trying to declutter. I didn’t want one of those big, clunky grip testers. I like that this is smaller and serves a dual purpose of exercising my hands. I’ll be content with a general sense of whether I make progress, rather than a precise documenting of the progress.Original review below:I would give this four stars if I could replace the battery. It’s not possible, though, and I hate that I will have to throw this away eventually as a result. I bought this thinking I’d use it to help strengthen my hands, but why would I use up battery life doing that? So instead I’ll just use it occasionally to check my progress as I exercise in other ways.I took another star off because it’s very hard to get a consistent reading. Just a slight difference in the angle you are gripping can make a big difference in the reading. What I do like is the size and shape. Also how soft it is. It’s very comfortable to hold. I chose this over other meter styles because of that. I also have too much clutter in my house, so I liked that this was smaller and will take up less room.

Do not buy!!
Zero stars. Took out of the box and never turned on without the charger. We took the box out of the grip rubber and there is no way this product measures your grip. This is a scam product. I had bought them for Easter baskets and I am past the return date so they are going in the trash.

Objective way to see progression in grip strength
This is a handy little device to help strengthen the muscles in your hand. Since it displays the grip strength, it’s nice to see progress if you are doing rehab for your hand or just looking for an objective way to see an increase in your grip strength. It would also be easy to use while doing other things like watching tv or riding in the car.I ordered the green color. It’s a nice color and has a nice and comfortable feel to it. It sits in your plan nicely and has spaces for your fingers to fit. I like that the material is something that can be cleaned easily. I also like that you can plug it in to recharge it and I don’t have to worry about changing batteries for it.I will say that on Amazon it shows you how to plug it in but when it came in the box, the cord was put under the plastic holder that the device sits on so if you are giving this as a gift and someone isn’t seeing that it needs to be recharged, they might need to be told as the cord is kinda hidden. Not really a big deal once you know but the start up might be difficult if they don’t know it needs to be charged first and also where the place to charge it is.The place to recharge it is beside the display and under a plastic piece that fits over the plus so you need to pop it off to charge it. It’s nice that it has something to cover the plug to keep it clean and dry but it isn’t attached to the device so it can be easily lost if you aren’t careful when popping it off. That’s probably the one critique I have is that it would be nice if the cover for the place to recharge was connected but otherwise it’s a good device for the value.

Fun stress novelty but do not trust the grip measurement!
Had this for approximately 6 months and bought to test and exercise grip strength. First the good: It charges, feels good in the hand and works very well as a stress ball or to exercise your grip. Where it fails is in the accuracy of the measurement. Basically it's not accurate at all compared to other grip strength testers and feels inconsistent. I've tied others and it's always way off. Decent value for what it is but if you need to know where your grip strength is at this probably isn't the thing for you and more of a novelty.

Use caution
I used it too much. Use cautiously. Too much and you can cause some artritic problems s.
