Grain as smooth as silk!
I waited a while to post a review on this planer to give me time to use it and put it through its cycles. First, let me say, this is an amazing tool! I followed instructions for assembly and use carefully, and the folks at FindBuy Tool were very responsive to my initial questions. So far, I've run Walnut, Oak, Pine, Purpleheart, Maple, Sycamore, Tiger Wood, and a couple of other species I don't recall at the moment through this machine. In every instance the resulting finish was at least comparable to a 180 or 220 grit sanding. I make a lot of cutting boards and use figurative wood, so it is important that I avoid tear out, and this planer has none of those issues. The unit is not lightweight, but easy enough to move around your shop if need be; I placed mine on a rolling stand. Noise level is much less than my previous 3 blade planer, it does make noise mind you, but much quieter, and you should use hearing protection anyway. Snipe was easily abated with a few adjustments, so the accuracy is primo. There are only a couple of things I would change if I were manufacturing this planer: 1; improve dust collect by sealing in some way the vacuum port as it sets astride the horizontal plane of the tool - there is some blowback of dust/chips but not so much as to really be a concern, 2; move the screw hole on the dust port to the top or back side of the dust port, it is up against the planer in its current configuration and difficult to get to (since the port is plastic I easily rectified by drilling my own hole), and 3; the depth gauge on the left side front of the planer is difficult to install and really unnecessary, in the next iteration leave it off and use the development budget to improve the dust port areas I mentioned. Anyway, I am extremely satisfied with this planer. I've been woodworking most of my life and doing it as a business for 24 years now, I'll never go back to the blade style planers, no matter who makes it. This unit is an excellent return on investment, saving me many sanding hours. Highly recommended!

5 Stars – True Helical Planer at an Unbeatable Price
This is the real deal — a true helical head planer at about half the price of the big-name brands. I was honestly skeptical at first, but it absolutely delivered. The finish it leaves behind is incredibly smooth, easily comparable to 180 grit sanding.Build quality is solid, and it arrived extremely well-packaged. You can tell care was taken both in manufacturing and shipping. The cutter head runs quietly and efficiently, and the results speak for themselves. If you’ve been eyeing a helical planer but balking at the price tag, this is a fantastic alternative. It performs like a premium machine without the premium markup.

Cuts well, worth the money, needs small improvements.
The blades cut well, which was the main objective with my first planer. No real problems yet, building cabinets and worked it a fair amount. So I get flat boards, coming off the jointer and through this planer.Drawbacks: dust collection could be better, and it’s hard to clean the chips stuck in all the machine crevices. So far a ball bearing and a screw have fallen out / appeared. I cannot find where they go, but have seen nothing loose or grinding. The “stoppy block” slipsA better quality tape scale with metric in addition to standard would help.Good planer for the money, just not quite 5 star for little things I can live with.

Amazing
Alrighty, after seeing the one review on here and seeing some of the YouTube videos I was sold on this planner. Out of the box it is heavy., no one likes a light planner lol. Tested a few boards through it. Absolutely zero snipe! Like no where to be seen. The boards came out looking like they been sanded down with 220 grit. Very easy to use, I love the addition of the depth cut indicator on the front. Dust collection was pretty good considering I’m using a harbor freight dust collector. Honestly if anyone is looking for a good planer with a helical head and don’t want to spend tons of money give this one a look. I will note it does come with 10 extra cutter heads with tools. I fell in love this planner after a few runs. Two thumbs up!

Best value for the money.
I ran my first board through, the side grain side of the board came out super smooth sort of like a 220 grit sandpaper the other side which had crotch figure and some soft wood in the center had a little bit of snipe but still I need to adjust my end feed and out feed tables to see what I can do about that, so far I am super happy and I will write more review tomorrow after I put the machine through its paces I will spend all day planing Maple boards if this is the best it can do for the price I'm happy.

Great planer
I can not believe how well this planer works. It is night and day difference from the traditional planer. It reduces a lot sanding time. Unbelievable smoothness coming from this planer.

Stout little machine
I didn't even get this one in the shop before I had to try it out. I tested it out some very old barn wood. This ain't the tame and sweet wood you get in the store. This wood came from old growth trees and has been drying in the sun for well over a century. It still has the circular sawmill blade marks and knots a plenty. This is some gnarly wood and this little guy did the trick. Some of the boards were 8-10" wide and they came out like they were on final sand and ready for finish. I'm very pleased with this one. It is replacing an old DeWalt 734 that has served me well, but the motor is weak and the take up rollers are starting to dry rot. This seems to be a solid machine and I hope it last as long.
