good heavy duty table
I am happy the table is made in a heavy duty manner; Heavy steel base, heavy steel square with the piston inside. The fake wood top is even heavy as well, with laminate on both sides, surrounded by a plastic edge that just barely gives you a lip for things to not roll off.The package is heavy though, you will need the help of someone to bring the box inside, and probably to put it in place once assembled.I am not happy that the product shipped without any tools to finish assembly, not even the crappy tools you sometimes get. I have the screw driver needed, but not the wrenches. I have some pliers, but only needlenose, not the sort you need to finish tightening the bolts. It should have a warning about that, or more prominently written, as I missed it.If you bump the table the wrong way, or push up from the bottom purposely, the table will rise on its own. You will have to sit up and put some weight over the pole while pulling on the handle to get it back down. It is a nice feature knowing i cant get it stuck on me.The heavy plate bottom with "magazine rack" fits under my adjustable bed support frame snuggly with the addition of my needlenose pliers wedged into the less than quarter inch height left over. That magazine rack is a poor design meant to keep the pole from rubbing against the furniture. I wish they just put the pole in a tube. Anyone that uses a lift chair, and needs a table, isnt going to find the magazine rack very convenient. I planned on getting the neighbor to just remove most of the "magazine rack" with his sawzall, but the steel is too thick to do that. It would need to be cut off with a torch, too much trouble. For my particular application, not for a chair, i wish I had got the right handed version, even though i use if on my left side. Where I put the base, so it doesnt interfere with getting up and down, leaves part of the table too close to the head of my bed and leaves it unable to fully get close to me.Something strange you should know. When the table is 90 degrees with the base, the table is pretty level. At all other angles with varying uniformity, the table is canted front to back. To the point where i worry about leaving a drink on it when I have to push the table away, as it might spill if too full. I checked the base, it has nothing to do with my application, the base is the same the whole time, it has something to do with the pole (maybe).Overall I am happy with it, and would buy it again. I even recommended it to my neighbor, for convenience in his living room with his kids taking high school at home now. Just keep in mind, if you dont have the proper chair, it needs something to wedge in there so the full weight of your furniture is on it.

Great laptop desk while Working From Home
During the whole pandemic thing, I've had to make a space for my work computer at my desk so my personal stuff has gotten set aside... it's a bit of a hassle to move things around each time I want to switch from "work" mode to "home" mode so I got this for use with my recliner so I can just have my laptop set up there rather than fiddling with moving things around on my desk all the time.Works great for that, I have a fairly heavy gaming laptop and there is plenty of room on this for both the laptop and a mouse and it seems sturdy enough to hold everything up. I've had it for two months now with almost daily use and it's holding up fine so far. Gaming on a laptop comfortably while on a recliner is pretty great!A note of caution to pay attention to the dimensions of everything to be sure it'll work in your space, it is a fairly large and bulky swinging table so you'll want to be sure you have space around where you're setting it up to swing it away from your seat as needed. Also, if you're planning on using it with electronics you'll probably want to be a little bit careful about how cords and such are routed, as you won't want things to get caught by the mechanism when turning the table.

Almost perfect
We needed an over-recliner and over-bed table for my elderly father to use during mealtime. Unfortunately, the vertical pole that allows the table to pivot out of the way is too near the operation buttons of our recliner. This frustrates my father when he bumps his knuckles trying to open and shut the footrest of the recliner. Note in the product images that the floor plate is not completely flat. This interferes with the wheels of our electric lift when trying to transfer him. The lift wheels cannot roll smoothly around the chair because of the metal hump on the floor plate. We often have to move the table which is heavy to complete transfers. I am debating on returning the product for these reasons and trying a table that is n shaped and can roll over the chair and bed more easily. If we didn't use a lift, we may be able to use the table on the opposite side of the chair controls, but at this time we have to do a lot of improvising to have the table. It is a well made sturdy piece of equipment, but it simply does not work well with our current situation.

Very useful
Great product. Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Very sturdy. Looks good. Unfortunately the table top was damaged in transit, but Drive Medical sent a replacement part. Very responsive. Great customer service.

Arrived non-functional
I was very excited to receive the table because i need it for my mother's arm chair. The raising and lowering mechanism on the pole did not work although it was put together correctly. It was stuck in lowest position. Fiddled with it quite a bit but we were not able to get the inside pole that raises the table unstuck. Looks like it would be a useful table, unfortunately, we are unable to use it. Contacted tech support and waiting for help. Hopefully they can replace the main metal pole. I would give it a much better rating if it worked.

Awful instructions, and its a little wobbly
The instructions are awful. First thing that you need to know - but the instructions didn't tell you until the very end - is not to remove the shipping screw until you finish assembly. The other thing the instructions don't indicate is that the trip rod goes in with the wider head at the top. Anyway, I eventually got it back together and it works fine. Unfortunately, its a little wobbly. The table fits on the base with a bit too much play, so the top ends up wobbling. There is also no way to lock the 360 degree rotating table in one position, so its very easy to spin around.

Excellent table
I have found medical supply stores are very expensive so when I found the exact table for less money I order it its big enough for a iPad, eating meals, and swings away. Very sturdy and easy to put together youtube has a video. Very happy with this purchase

Worth the money.
Purchased for an elderly person for use with a lift chair. She loves it! A bit pricey, but it is well constructed and very sturdy. In the end, it is worth the money.
