A good product for Machine Learning settings, where dual camera lenses can have multiple uses.
I like working with IoT products, so I was excited to come across this dual camera lens product. I recently got to sit in on viewing some cutting-edge IoT image capture and lighting installations, so I have a bit more of an insight in to how these cameras are put to use, potentially, such as image capture with light field of depth image sensing (although I'm not sure if this camera set can employ that technology). While I was positioned inside one of the installations, for example, the latest iPhone, with dual front cameras, was being used for light field depth image capture, along with standard camera capture. There are various advantages to using a dual camera set up, and this product is particularly useful in certain industries, such as computer-aided manufacturing, I believe. I'm excited to learn more about this product, and potentially put it to use, myself!

Crispy image, great for virtualization!
If you're looking to get into virtual camera work, this ELP 210fps Monochrome Global Shutter USB Camera Module Dual Lens Synchronization B/W Web Camera is a great one to start.Be aware (as you will probably be from the pictures) you're getting a camera on a card - no case here, so you'll need to protect it from flying cans of soda, etc.Easy plug and play use.Super-crispy image with no distortion.I've only started using the virtual/3D factor, and so far so good. Will have more to add on that after some use, but out of the gate, looks like a win.Very happy with the lens quality here. Looks as crispy as a Leica and that will translate to great results as we get more virtual. Can definitely recommend!

Impressive camera with some quality issues
The media could not be loaded. ELP 210fps Global Shutter Stereo Camera (ELP-USB3DGS800P01-V83)I’ve used an ELP color 3D module in the past and been very happy with it. When I saw the monochrome version of it, it looked like it could solve some problems for me. I needed the global shutter and the high frame rate capture mode. It is based on the OV9281 image sensor which has excellent specs. As soon as I got the module, I hooked it up, using the “camera” app in Windows 11, and took a few images of my workbench. When I tried to look at them in 3D, I realized there was a problem. For stereoscopic 3D to work, the two cameras need to be precisely aligned in all dimensions. It looked like the cameras on the module were not well aligned. Just to make sure the app wasn’t causing the problem, I hooked the module up to my Samsung phone and used a camera app to take the same shots. The problem was still there. If you look at the photos that accompany this review, you will see one that shows an approximate 45-pixel vertical offset between the cameras. Normally you would like to see less than a 1% offset in any dimension. Inspecting other images, I saw that the left camera’s focus was a little soft.I would like to point out that it’s not unusual for stereo cameras to have alignment problems. They can be fixed in software or hardware, but you do have to be aware of the problem and have a way of fixing it. I have included some examples of photos where the vertical offset has been fixed in software.I also checked the image synchronization between the two cameras using a custom tester and it was excellent. In bright sunlight, the contrast was a little harsh which is a common problem when you don’t have an aperture adjustment on the lens. The other thing I will note is that the cameras do not seem to be sensitive to infrared in the frequency used by security cameras.Overall, this is a nice module. The alignment problems are fixable in software and typical of relatively low-cost camera modules. If you need a global shutter camera, and you can use a monochrome one, this is a good choice. I am giving it a 3 star rating because the alignment problem is serious for me it might not be in another application.

I can't really test it since mine arrived broken
Mine arrived broken so I can't really test it unfortunately. I really had high hopes for this.

Great for A.I
I got this camera to use with my obico server. The server uses A.I to detect for 3d print failures and stops the print if it detects any issues. This camera works great for this because it uses a global shutter, is monochromatic, and has a high frame rate... All of which benefit my use case. I have the camera hooked up to a pi 5 and had no issues getting it to work with crowsnest. Overall I'm happy with the camera and would recommend it to others.
