Gawfolk 27-inch 2K QHD Monitor Review: Maximum Resolution, Minimum Price
The Gawfolk 27-inch QHD (2560x1440P) monitor aims squarely at the extreme value segment, offering high-resolution and high-refresh-rate specifications (often 144Hz to 180Hz, depending on the variant) at a price point that undercuts most established brands. While marketed with an IPS panel type in some listings, readers should be aware that many budget Gawfolk 1440P models often feature a slightly curved VA panel. This monitor is primarily for budget-conscious gamers or users who need maximum screen real estate for office work. Performance and Value Proposition The monitor’s chief selling point is its raw specification sheet relative to its cost. Getting a 27-inch QHD display with a refresh rate over $144\, \text{Hz}$ and Adaptive Sync (FreeSync/G-Sync compatibility) for such a low price is highly compelling. For entry-level and mid-range gaming builds, this resolution/refresh rate combination is the sweet spot for balancing visual fidelity and high frame rates. When functioning correctly, the panel delivers good clarity thanks to the QHD resolution, and the high refresh rate provides a noticeable smoothness in motion, particularly in fast-paced games. The VA panel variants typically offer stronger contrast ratios (e.g., $4000:1$), leading to deeper blacks, while the IPS variants offer better color accuracy and wider viewing angles. Quality and User Experience Caveats The main trade-off for the low price is the quality of the surrounding components and overall reliability, which is inconsistent across the brand. Build and Controls: The physical build quality is generally basic. A frequent user complaint centers on the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, which is often clunky, controlled by a single joystick-like button, and difficult to navigate, especially when frequently switching between inputs. Reliability: There are reports of mixed long-term reliability, including instances of dead pixels, flickering, or unit failure within a few months of use. This highlights the risk associated with extreme budget panels and the importance of purchasing from a retailer with a strong return policy. Features: While the monitor often includes built-in speakers, their audio quality is typically poor and should not be relied upon for serious media consumption or gaming. Furthermore, some users note issues with VESA mounting due to recessed or poorly designed mounting points. Final Verdict The Gawfolk 27-inch 2K QHD monitor is the definition of a high-risk, high-reward budget buy. If you are looking for the absolute cheapest entry into 1440P high-refresh-rate gaming and are willing to tolerate potentially clunky controls and a moderate risk of quality control issues, it offers unparalleled value on paper. If you prioritize reliability, excellent OSD controls, or perfect color accuracy for professional work, you should consider spending slightly more on a monitor from a more established brand. This monitor is best suited for the casual gamer or student who needs a lot of screen space and smooth gameplay without a large investment.

Poor quality monitor
No complaints service wise as expected - delivered next day, refund processed promptly etc. But quality wise, this is not a good monitor. Next to my LG IPS 1080p, the difference is night and day. Severe motion blur, lack of ability to customise gamma, colours look washed out, and the screen is fixed in position (can only be tilted, not lowered or raised). I would recommend spending an extra £20-£30 and getting something of quality.

Better then expected
Saw all the negative reviews about it and thought i would take a risk, but the monitor is amazing, so easy to set up, looks amazing and vibrant compared to my 1080p monitor and easily adjustable. My only complaints are that the screen protector was tucked into my screen at the bottom so it left abit sticky but easily wipeable, and had to adjust the colour a little as the blacks were looking abit dark drown. Definitely recommend if you are on a budget like me!

Brill screen for price
Great wee screen, ordering another. The only reason it’s lost a star is the backing screw section to attach to monitor arms won’t allow the screws in all the way as standard so it hangs a bit loose. But apart from that so far runs exactly how I would want it to and can reach the 144hz.

Broke within 4 months
Broke randomly with lines covering the screen as shown in other reviews - went to website for support, website is now a domain to buy. Now I'm stuck with a hunk of plastic that I cant even try to use the warranty I have on it to get a replacement. Scam.

Used the product for 6 months! It's fine!
Don't know where the bad reviews are coming from, but iv had this moniter for about 6 months it works fine. You have to set it to 120 fps and you can overclock it to 144 fps. Just google it if you dont know how to do it. I'm a little anoyed because its out of stock and I want a new one for a second screen. But its probably the best budget monitor out at the minute.

Perfectly Monitor I Love it
Love it , it's better than I thought. My friend called round and went over the monitor and found that it was comparable to his which cost him double. Picture quality is perfect and my games look so much better then before. Can't find one reason people should not buy this monitor, wish I had got it sooner.
