The product is great and gives different types of pens to begin learning.

Be patient inserting the nibs
A little difficult to insert the nib into the pen, but otherwise a good value.

Spotty Ink Flow
Not impressed. Ink flow is not consistent. There was no Instructions enclosed (was in package item list just not in the box). Left them Sitting upside down “for a while” per instructions. Didn’t help. Tried shaking them and it wasn’t helping either. Disappointed.

Smooth and love the assortment of tips
Love, how smooth these glide over the paper. And the different tip sizes are perfect for any writing needs.

Not great set
I wanted to like this product but ultimately cannot endorse it. First, there are no instructions on how to insert the ink, the picture shown here is misleading as it includes a glass inkwell, which is not provided. Secondly, after figuring out how the ink insertion works I began writing and the ink leaks and leaves huge splotches on the paper. Even when not in use the ink pools at the bottom of the pen and not only causes a mess but is a waste of ink.

Good Beginner Set; Generous Amount of Ink
I have had excellent experiences with other GC Quill pens (specifically fountain pens), and I was very pleased to have the opportunity to work with this calligraphy set. It’s a very good set and I am pleased with it, though I encountered a minor issue with one of the pen caps. This is a very complete calligraphy kit with a number of pens and colored ink cartridges. There are 8 pens in the kit, each with a different type of nib. There’s a generous number of ink cartridges in the kit, in a lot of different colors, so finding a color that works is not too much of a problem and there’s plenty of ink to last a long time. When the ink runs out, though, each pen has a converter installed so you can load up bottled ink without issue. There’s a single pen with a “standard” writing nib, an EF. That particular pen can be used for generalized writing, though it is not the point of this kit. I ran into an issue with the brush tip pen. When I put the pen cap back on, the sealing cap on the top of the pen popped off. I noticed it on the floor before I realized there was an issue. This is the only pen that has this issue, and it is due to the inner cap that goes over the tip. Because of this, this is not a big issue unless you choose not to use the inner cap. These are all plastic pens (except for the nibs) and they are lightweight but balanced. I personally prefer a pen that has some more heft to it than these, but that is a personal preference. Calligraphy is different than writing daily, and a lighter pen will help a bit with fatigue when compared to a hefty pen. In writing, these are reasonably smooth, though admittedly I have not used them all and my calligraphy skills are sorely lacking (but that’s a different discussion entirely). So far they have performed for me admirably and I haven’t had issues with globbing, skipping or hard starts. That’s really all I can ask. This is a very nice calligraphy kit that is well suited for a beginner or a student. It has everything needed to get started, and it is priced very well.

Unfortunately all but 2 of these pens can't manage to get an ink flow and write or draw consistently. I was quite disappointed as my first set my gcquill was terrific but this one was a total waste of money.
