If you want to get rid of all smells, good and bad, then this is the product to use. It is the only product I have used that does actually get rid of smells. However, there are some things to consider. As it gets rid of all smells it will also get rid of the scent of scented candles or fresh flowers you have in a room. So if you want nice smells it will get rid of those as well. Also, if you like the fresh smell of your coffee then this would block that as well. It completely gets rid of cooking smells, including fresh bread and baking. So you have to decide whether you want to lose the good smells with the bad. When you first open it has a strong chemical smell but that fades after a day or so. Now and again you get a whiff of it but not often. It is great for storage areas and cupboards, especially where you store shoes, coats, sports gear and other similar things. They are good for hallways and garages. You should remember they are portable so they can be used to freshen up an area them moved or covered for a while. For example put in your car overnight then remove, leave the car windows open for a while to air out the residual chemicals in the air then you will have a fresher car. Obviously you should also remove the things causing the bad smells as well! The same brand make sprays and car versions too but these tubs seem the most effective. They can be good for taking on holiday as they will get rid of that iinevitable stale smell of holiday lets. If you do use it while traveling you will want to reseal it to bring it home, of course you could throw t away, but if you have only used it for a couple of weeks you might not want to. What I suggest is you wrap it in cling film and put in a freezer type plastic bag and seal with sticky tape, that way it should not leak in your luggage. Remember to check if it is okay to pack in your luggage if flying as some chemicals can set off detectors and other factors such as it is a gel so can count as a 'liquid' in some instances. You have to remember these put chemicals into the air as the gel desolves, so definitely not suitable for a baby or children's bedroom! I would also recommend keeping a window open in a room while using or for at least some of time as you can get a build up that irritates eyes and throats if left in too small an area or not ventilated. Another thing is several of the pots had leaked. I have never had that happen with ones I have got from the supermarket! Also, I have found that the pots do not last 90 days. I have put a small sticker with the start date on it on each of the pots I opened (so I wasn't just guessing on remembering the date a few weeks later!) and I found after trying several that they lasted between 62-67 days. And one of them only lasted 59 days! There is no doubt these get rid of some awful smells and that it takes about an hour or so to clear a medium sized room. If left open they get rid of any new smells within 10 -20 minutes, but they are full of chemicals and if you have any allergies be careful. Also, keep out of reach and sight of pets or children as they won't know the gel is not for consumption. Also, the gel should not be touched and you should wash your hands after peeling the lid off or if any leaks on your skin. When you peel the lid off some of the gel is on the lid and it makes your fingers itchy and slightly blue. Overall a good product if used correctly and appropriately. Good value as you won't have to use any other air freshener when using it.

I’ve been using this air freshener for many years as I am a migraine sufferer and one of my triggers is air fresheners especially the plug in ones however this one simply neutralises the air instead of pumping out toxic smells. I use them in the kitchen and bathroom. I don’t get any headaches at all from them and they not only do the job but also last for a long time.
