It’s small, compact, and very easy to set up using the Yoto app. The portability makes it perfect for travel or quiet time at home, and the screen-free design is a big win for keeping my child entertained without needing a tablet or phone. With options ranging from stories and music to podcasts and radio, there’s always something engaging. The sound quality is clear, and the volume can be adjusted easily, which is great for tailoring the listening experience based on the situation.One of my favorite features is the “Make Your Own Card” option. It was so easy to use through the app, and I added some free Frozen audio, which my daughter absolutely loves. I’m also excited to explore more libraries to create additional cards, selecting content that’s both educational and tailored to her interests.Overall, the Yoto Mini is fun, educational, and incredibly easy to use. It provides a perfect screen-free alternative for entertainment, and I’m looking forward to creating even more personalized content for my daughter. Highly recommended!

We heard about the Yoto from a friend of ours and I loved the idea of it so much that I decided to give it a try for my 9 and 6 year olds. My gosh. They loved it so much that I ended up purchasing a second one the next day while it was still on sale. They love getting to pick out a story and sit in their beds to listen to their cards. I like the variety of stories you can purchase and that, if you wanted to, you can "Make Your Own" cards by downloading an audio book into one (has to be an MP3 format though). The only issue we had with setting our first one up was that it wouldn't connect to our WiFi via our phones. We think it was having problems because we use Android phones. We got around this by creating an account on a phone then logging into the Yoto app using said account on one of our iPads and completing the set-up that way. Once the set-up was complete and the Yoto was connected, I had no issues with using the app from my phone. When we received the second Yoto, we just used the same process and had no problems. The Yoto Mini itself is easy to use for my kids and if they have any problems starting a story or skipping to another chapter, it's easy enough for me to open up the apps and control their Yoto that way. I do recommend getting a protective cover for it though so it doesn't get damaged if accidentally dropped.

We bought the Yoto Mini for our daughter’s 5th birthday, and it’s been amazing! She calls it her “story box” and takes it everywhere — in the car, to grandma’s, even on camping trips. It’s sturdy, easy for her to use by herself, and the stories + music cards keep her entertained for hours.As parents, we love that it’s totally screen-free. No ads, no distractions — just good old storytelling. The sound quality is great, and battery life lasts longer than expected. Also appreciate the headphone jack for quiet time.Highly recommend this for any parent wanting educational fun without screen time battles!

My favorite thing I ever bought for our kids. Worth every penny. We own 2 Yoto Mini’s and 1 Yoto Player and absolutely love them ! My older kids prefer the Mini’s because they’re easier to carry around and our youngest likes the Player because of the bigger “screen” and also it’s easier for her to use it . It’s easy to use even for younger kids. Their app is great and we really like the make your own cards as you can record yourself or grandparents or whoever or you can just buy audiobooks and add them to the MYO card . Also yoto has a great variety of cards for all ages . Their subscription is also a cool option. This is such a nice device to keep kids off screens . Everywhere we go we get asked about it because parents are looking for ways to get their kids to off screens and offer quality entertainment. And this is it .

I got our first Yotos over four years ago. My one daughter has been obsessed, and legitimately uses hers probably a solid twenty hours a week, often more. She has dropped it in the sink with water, twice, left it outside in the rain more than once. I'm talking, the inside of the thing was wet and I had to do my best to clean it out. She also holds it in her hand by the cord (we added that on with the case) and swings HARD, like, she swings extremely high and often. So my point is that this Yoto has been severely abused. It JUST died, after four years of harsh abuse and extensive use. And honestly, we just can't get it to make a sound, like it might be fixable. So you'd think I'd maybe give it a bad review, since it only lasted four years, but its kind of like the post office and will survive wind, sleet, snow, rain/etc.I bought her a new one within an hour of realizing it was broken - that's how essential this thing is in our household. Highly recommend, even for your most forgetful, distracted child. This is screen-free fun at its best. The card library is great, or you can make your own cards. Yoto Club is ultimately the best value.Best new device for kids that's come out in a long time.

I heard a lot of people getting these for their kids as a way to limit screen time and I wanted to try it out. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 6 yr old and she absolutely loves it! It’s portable and small in size and easy for her to use. She can take it with her anywhere and can listen to both audio books and music.
