GoPro HERO13 Black - Waterproof Action Camera with 5.3K60 Video, 27MP Photo + Compatability with HB-Series Lenses

Amazing action camera to take footage for all your adventures! This takes very high quality pictures in and out of water. It is waterproof till about 30 feet but don’t go diving further without the waterproof housing. If you’re like me and like to go snorkeling or diving often buy it. You won’t regret it because you’ll have the footage to remember the adventures you’ve taken.The lense and focus does take some getting use to and for the most part I have found that objects within about 8 feet and closer are very clear and then further away is a little hazy unless you are very still during your video footage. The camera feature works well but is slow to process. For things happening quickly like spotting animals in nature or wanting to snap a shot of someone doing something crazy I’ve found it best to use only the video feature and then go and edit into a photo later using my computer or phone.The GoPro Quik app also works well to make content edits quickly using its ai features and filters/transitions/music/and more.

Sadly, I don't think I will EVER do justice to this little GoPro. It's just a SUPER Great little action camera - SUPER impressed with all the features & there's just a insane amount of after market bit's you can get. I've had to use this GoPro as my dashcam until I could sort out some other odd quirks I was having with various options from Wolfbox - but - MAN - this little camera is SO cool !!! ... Picture quality is amazing - I had ZERO heat issues with it - granted my drive from home to work is all of 12mins max - thus - this little camera didn't have a real chance to overheat as many complain. I did - once - just for the fun it - did leave it on & sitting on my dash of my 07 C6 Corvette & again - didn't have any issues - it just sat there - a silent sentinel & just recording life as it happened. Nothing exciting thankfully - but - bottom line ... my little GoPro was happy - thus - I'm FINALLY happy owning a GoPro ...

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I previously had a GoPro camera and used it for many years. When it was time to replace it a GoPro was my first choice. I chose the Hero 13. The GoPros I have had have great image stabilization, very good optics, easy to use, rugged, weatherproof, small sized, have a lot of camera settings,and are a high quality build. The Hero series have replaceable batteries. My earlier GoPro was non replaceable battery, so when the battery failed I had to replace the camera. I am extremely satisfied with the Hero 13.

I purchased this to bring along on a cruise and scuba diving and it is FANTASTIC. Great pictures and videos and worth every penny.

I've been using GoPros for a while. The GoPro Heron13 makes some incremental improvements from previous models. If you have more than one, the app provides a QR code method for syncing time codes. Im glad they have an option in white. This will help keep the camera a bit cooler when using it out in the sun. These cameras are also extremely modular with interchangeable lenses and external batteries.I can not use my main camera in all environments. But the GoPro fills in for harsh spaces quite easily. It also provides better quality than most dash cameras. Whether over WiFi or Bluetooth, the camera provides options for controlling it without touching it.

Bought this for a bucket list trip to the Great Barrier reef and Tahiti for snorkeling only. Tested it before leaving and it worked fine. Worked fine also shooting video at the start of the trip. BUT the first time I went in the water with it (it was never more than 1 meter deep) it stopped working, and when I took it back to the boat to investigate I found that the door to the battery/USB/SD card compartment had leaked sea water. I rinsed with fresh water and tried to dry it out but I now own a brick with a very nice handle and carrying case. And I can't eject the SD card either to try to rescue the video I took before going in the water. I never got to download or watch the video I took, which included something I probably will never see again -- a just-hatched baby sea turtle making its way to the sea.Mind you I was aware of the potential for leaking if the "door" didn't seal so I double checked that it was fully closed and sealed. But it leaked anyhow. The engineering of the seal is very poor. Basically you have to stretch the door in order to get it to pop over a little ridge. There is no secondary latch to make sure that the door is fully sealed.Fortunately I was able to pick up a DJI Osmo Action 4 before we got to Tahiti. That worked flawlessly and I got some great snorkeling videos.

The go-pro system is getting better and better and is still pretty much the industry standard and leader in action cams. Lets face it, everyone's chasing and competing with them. Upgraded from a GoPro 11.Pros: Being able to use bluetooth mics is really nice, and capable of pairing with my Cardo motorcycle headset to use my helmet intercom system for the camera. Another great feature is finally adding a 1/4" thread mount to give a larger ecosystem of mounts. Also having a magnetic base gives you a new bit of flexibility for mounting. And has come in handy as I found I can rotate my phone mount in my truck to hold the camera to make videos. Magnet isn't super strong, but strong enough.Cons: Still overheats and still not the best battery life. If making multiple clips (i.e. doing retakes back to back) you'll find its starting to overheat when they system gets real laggy. Likes to reboot itself when it gets to hot so use that as a sign to cool down. Loss of the power modes is sad like not having "extended battery" mode kind of stinks too.
