I am not much of a make up person, but wanted to try something that was organic, lightweight and had an SPF. I am in my early thirties now and need to start wearing something daily. This fit the bill and I caved and gave it a try. To my surprise, it is a wonderful product! It provides nice, sheer coverage. It does not feel sticky or chalky like some other powders I have used in the past. I am not 100% sold on the honey scent. I wish it were more apple scented, as the honey can smell somewhat strong right after application. I have acne prone skin and so far, it doesn't seem to cause extra breakouts, which is a plus. I love how is covers blemishes pretty good, but wish it had a twist off option, so you could get to the powder instead of having to keep shaking/tapping it down the bristles of the brush for areas that need extra coverage. By having a twist-off option, you could also remove the brush for cleaning. I also like that the whole family can use it as sunscreen. Super easy and lasts WAY longer than traditional sunscreen. It is also not sticky like sunscreen. I also use it with the Stone Crop Hydrating Mist and Whip (cream moisturizer), which I also love! Eminence is a great organic line and I plan on continuing to use it for a long time.

I am a loyal Eminence customer. I spent years denying myself this product line because of its expense, and I fought with my skin the whole time, trying myriad products, facing adverse reactions, dealing with ineffective product lines, and getting increasingly horrified at the complex ingredients lists accompanying these products. I finally went back to Eminence products, and my skin looks better than it has in years. I decided to try the Sun Defense Minerals (SDM) when Burberry ran out of my powder foundation shade. I use the Bright Skin day moisturizer, which already has spf 30, but I didn't want to go back to another cosmetics line that would cause breakouts while waiting for Burberry to restock its shades. The SDM are terrific, and I happy switch back and forth between this product and my powder foundation. Even better, I finally have a product I can get ALL OVER my 9 and 5 year old sons. Now, even my husband is in on it. We set it with Yonka spray toner, which is just what we happen to have now (and the kids like the smell). So, I am back ordering a new SDM for my makeup bag so that we can keep the current one in central family sunscreen location. I suspect once we get into spring I will be ordering one for each kid so they can reapply at school. At least I know they will do it. We just spend several long days at the beach without reapplying, and the kids were not sunburned at all (with no reapplication). As I said, as the sun gets more intense, I expect reapplication to be necessary. The smell at first was weird to me, but when I realized it was honey I was smelling, then I really liked it. Don't get too stressed out about whether the powder is ON you. Once you see the product puff out of the brush, you can be certain the brush is loaded with enough product to cover your face. The idea is not to look like you just emerged from a bakery--it's a natural look and feel. This product lives up to Eminence's highest standards. I'd sell this stuff door to door if I could.

I wanted a mineral powder which would diminish the appearance of liver spots on the backs of my hands while providing SPF protection. This works well, but I wish you offered it in more shades, is this one is too pale for my skin tone.

Just received this product today and I was afraid I was going to be disappointed but it is really Fabulous looking!! I have tried many sunscreens (physical not chemical) which left my face so white and needed to apply every 45 - 60 minutes. Ridiculous.. I would have to have a white face all through the day and keep on rubbing it in over my make-up. The Eminence Sun Defense Minerals SPF 30 is WONDERFUL!!! You can make it as light or heavy as you like and it just looks like a nice foundation with very good coverage. AND it lasts for 4 to 5 hours. I just use a mist over my face and it doesn't look as matte looking which is my preference. Even without the spray it looks good. I was going nuts for a good sunscreen since I use glycolic acid at night and then in the morning I use a product with Retinol so a sunscreen is a MUST for me.... It's a little pricey but well worth the money...

I was loyal to this product many years ago but found the cost absurd after a while. I broke down and purchased it again in hopes it would be all I remembered to use for my July wedding. So very disappointed to report although the product smells exactly like I remember, the application brush now feels like it's made from plastic rather than the soft natural bristles I remember. Even worse, the brush worked all of once, maybe twice; and never like I remembered: I could never build the product up more than what I could have done with any loose or compact powder. Returning and asking for a refund.
