12x10 FT Manual Retractable Outdoor Patio Awning, Window Sun Shade Shelter with Crank Handle & Canopy for Deck, Backyard, Garden, Balcony, Gray

I was looking for something to help keep the rain and the Sun off of the part of my deck that was not covered by a roof. I don't know why I never considered an awning but this was an excellent idea. While it did come in many parts, the instructions were fairly easy to follow it is important to follow them in order and follow them precisely for a secure insulation. This thing is heavy duty sturdy and I would rate it almost commercial in quality. My husband was afraid to have it extended during rainstorms but I told him this is why I bought it let's at least see what it does... Amazingly it held up through several rainstorms though we did bring it in when the wind got bad. It looks amazing and does the job well. This is one of my best decisions of the summer so far!!

Just installed, so, so far, so good. The quality of the parts Jim's good. Nothing was misaligned, cross-threaded, or flimsy/ cheap feeling. I don't know about longevity yet, but it went together pretty well. The instructions are not abundantly clear in some places, so threading the fabric into the metal parts had to be redone. Not a big deal, just takes some extra time to fix. You should note, there are no measurement instructions for placing the brackets on the wall, so measure carefully! Let's just say, have some bolts ready to go for an accessory just to the side of the awning, lol! This install will go best if you have do-it-yourself experience, as we are talking about hammer drills and expansion bolts for concrete mounting. If you're not sure what those things are, get help with this project. Also, lifting the thing into place can be a challenge, so two people are much better. I did do it myself, but it was tough.

So far, so good. Assembly wasn’t bad. Getting the brackets mounted on our stucco walls required different anchors than what was included (those are intended for something like brick or concrete walls). We used stainless steel hex head lag screws (3.5” long and something like 3/8 diameter) into the wall studs. Tip: Instead of drilling through the stucco, I found driving a short, thick nail with a hammer was the easiest way to get through the stucco layer. Quality seems pretty good. However, we did find that we basically have to keep the angle sloped a little steeper than we prefer in order for the shade to completely roll up. If the angle is more flat/parallel to the ground, the arms won’t close up all the way due to hitting the wall brackets. Seems like the design could be improved in that regard, but for the price, I guess I can’t really complain.

The awning is substantial. Better than expected! Easy installation and looks high quality when extended. I would definitely recommend and buy again. Today most prices are high and items cheaply made. This maker came through delivering a great product. Thank you!

Delivered quickly. Oped box and checked for damage (none). Read over install directions to prepare for installation in April or May. So far so good.
