Great book for studying towards CISSP exam. Please note that the book solely will not be enough to pass the exam but is a great aid in the study process.

Using just this book, and the free practice tests what come along with it I passed first time. The way the book is segmented is rather helpful, I would read a chapter, wait a bit the done the questions and re-read on what I got wrong before progressing onto the next chapter.

Good content, but reading on the Kindle App (for Mac) is not easy for navigating

7th Edition is far more cheaper, But this is expensive compared to that, But cheaper compared to others. Also only guide apart from official CBK which covers new revision as of now(at least in amazon india in kindle format). I was not sure if purchasing this is necessary as new revised april 15 CBK addition is comparatively low.. I have read 7th edition, currently going through this book(8th edition)... Language/layout in this book feels simpler than the 7th ed(maybe because i already read 7th ed). most of the examples have been update to latest scenarios .. Practice question have also few updates.. Its like 80-90% old book content. I am happy with the purchase.. As for exam its is totally different beast, There is no practice questions out there which can prepare you for the exam fully. Experience matters in the field . Also Question will be worded in a way you might curse isc2 "why would the do this!" .. Read through the book think like a manager when using the book(what would a manager/senior executive do). use there resource flashcard practice question etc.. How to prepare(at-least i found helpful - people have different ways that works) 1) Use sybex book 2) Use flash card, Memory maps etc 3) Reading should be 50% other 50% do practice question, Understand the concept behind the question well. 4) Eric Conrad 11th hour and some audio books (Shon Harris(RIP) old but still good(highly detailed), Simple cissp audio book is also good - there are many others)

Used this as my main self-study guide to pass the CISSP exam - passed first go. Suggest is looking at it to also get the Practice tests book (I did). Spend the time & use the book fully - take your time, do the additional readings and re-read chapters where you aren't doing well.

I am an instructor for the CISSP certification program at a Toronto University. I chose this textbook for my class, together with the companion book of official quiz questions, to prepare my students for the updated CISSP CBK. I really appreciate the updated version which includes GDPR, updated Wireless attacks, and reflects the current threat landscape. The CBK may not appear to have changed significantly for 2018, but I really appreciate that this textbook has the most up-to-date information whether you are studying to pass the CISSP or just to learn more about information security. Students find the book easy to read, and the right balance between concise and explanatory. There is 20 quiz questions for each of the 21 chapters and you get free access to additional online practice questions and bonus exams. Readers of the ebook version will appreciate having live links to click for further information.
