My son loves this bat. The ball jumps off it compared to his older bats, and his swing feels smoother and more natural with less effort. We picked up a blemished version with a small scratch, but it’s holding up well so far aside from normal scuffs. The white finish shows dirt quickly, but that doesn’t really matter on the field. Overall, it’s a solid, high-performing bat and a great choice for travel ball.

Let me get one thing straight right off the bat (pun intended) — I’m not here to talk about how good the Rawlings Unicorn Icon looks. That’s already a given. We all know it’s a stunner. But let’s focus on what really matters: performance. And let me tell you — this bat is insanely hot right out of the wrapper. I got this bat for my son, and from the very first swing, we both knew this was something special. No break-in period? No problem. It was game-ready the second we pulled it out of the wrapper. He was launching balls deep into the outfield without even trying — and the sweet spot? It feels massive. Even his miss-hits were carrying, and when he squared one up? Forget about it. We were both watching balls sail with that perfect crack off the bat. The Unicorn Icon has this perfect balance of power and control. My son was getting that smooth, whip-like swing speed but with a barrel that feels like it was built to launch absolute bombs. We couldn’t believe the exit velo — pure rockets coming off the bat. If you’re a parent looking for a bat that’s ready to perform from day one, the Rawlings Unicorn Icon is it. No waiting, no break-in process — just pure, unfiltered heat the moment your kid steps up to the plate. Bottom line: This bat is 🔥 HOT out of the wrapper and had my son crushing balls right away. It’s an absolute game-changer!

Spent $400 to buy this bat for my 10 year old son. It broke before our season even started(end cap fell off). Contacted Rawlings and they told me to send it in, which cost me money. They told me they were going to report it, which requires them breaking out the old adhesive and glueing in a new cap. Still have not received our bat back and our first tournament is this weekend. Several teammates have had the same defect. Now in his eyes it's a broken bat so he doesn't even want to use it. Hoping we will revive it back soon. I'll probably have to sell it to buy a different bat. I had heard Rawlings was great and they would typically just send you a new bat as a replacement. Thhat was not our experience.

My 12 yr old had a -10, 29 inch icon that he outgrew from his 11u season. So for spring 2024 we got the heavier -8 Louisville Meta which is end loaded compared to the center balanced icon and he began to favor that. I didn’t love it though. I could see the drag in his swing from the new weight and end weight of the bat. He started hitting more dinky grounders so as not to get under balls and pop out. That deflated his confidence a bit and led him into a hitting slump. By late spring his coach let him use a longer, heavier center balanced bat that seemed to help so after a season we got the new icon -5 so slightly heavier, center balanced, composite and 2 inches longer. This helped a TON coming from the drag in the swing of the end loaded Louisville Meta bat and pulled him out of his slump and into hitting deep bombs over center field with ease. I’m not usually one to say it’s the bat, but in this case I do think the heavier weight and center balancing with of course proper length helped since he likes to line up a little farther from home than most. The material of these icons makes the balls float!

Ok, this was the most expensive item I’ve ever ordered. The bat started to rattle, so we contacted the company and they replaced it promptly!! So thankful!!!

My son's favorite bat. He had to replace it and ended up getting a different brand/bat, but wishes he had just gotten a new Icon instead. Great product.
