I actually run this at the backside of my dredge. It’s longer than my dredge. Works quite well.Planning on using this next summer in backpacking trips. Nice and light, great minor moss, falls together nicely, and well built.If I accidentally destroy this one, I’m definitely buying another.

I received the sluice box very quickly (Colombia), and the box it was packed in protected it very well during the trip.Upon opening it, I found a sluice box of very good quality, with excellent finishes. I had read that some had sharp edges, but mine is perfectly polished and finished.Everything fits together perfectly, and it's very easy to assemble.I just have one question: What is the purpose of the two screws attached to the center of the middle part?Should a wing nut be used on them?I'm very happy with my purchase. I hope to find lots of gold and create unforgettable moments!

We bought this folding sluice box to help with gold mining along local rivers. After we read all the reviews, we expected to need to sand or scuff the metal to avoid cuts because of sharp edges but was pleasantly surprised with no work needed. It was (as many have mentioned) missing two wing nuts that keep the sluice flat once unfolded that hubby has to find size to make it usable. Otherwise, it will start to fold and leave gaps when you are running material & water down the sluice bed.Other than the missing nuts, the size & ease of set up/dismantling is a piece of cake and it should last us a while. It appears to be durable, and the folding makes it easy to add to a backpack or just carry using the enclosed shoulder strap.

I just got one yesterday and set it up with a temporary recirculating water system. There are a few issues with this sluice like other comments have said, mine shipped without wingnuts ( nothing major ), the overall fit of the different sized pieces leave big gaps that gold will drop out of, the feeding end if not set fully down has holes along the side where the pivot point is thus leaving a huge riffle before the material even gets to the black mat, after finding some spare wing nuts and tightening the pivot points I found just picking up the sluice will fold it easily at those points thus I'm saying if any weight is applied ( like concentrate or rocks ) and the sluice isn't set upon a sturdy object at those pivot ponits as to keep them from moving , you will loose gold out of the bottom of the sluice. I had to drill 2 holes below the factory ones at each pivot point and add bolts. Not at all saying this is a bad product, on my 1st use it caught fine gold, however the black mat needs a bit of tweaking along with the miners moss and carpet after the black mat especially in my opinion. Most of the issues are easily resolved yet take away from the quick and easy set up.

We use this as an extension for our high banker and it works awesome.

I don't understand the other comments. This is an affordable, decent product. Yes it needs some modifications, but if you don't know how to modify carpets and sluice boxes for flow and gold retention, then stay out of the gold fields. There is NO sluice box in the world with a 100% retention rate, 80-85% is pretty dang normal.

Excellent perfectly built sluice. Better than other sluices. It has better aluminum expanded metal than the competitor. Better wing nuts.. adjustable flare unlike other sluices. And the miners moss is better than the other competitors sluice I bought. I give this sluice 100%!! I used it all week at a mine and there's nothing to improve on this one. Like I said the other sluices like this online have several problems.
