Appears an to be an exact replica of the Vietnam army fatigue shirt
Granted, it’s been 50 years since I was in Vietnam (67-68, Army) but to my recollection, this fatigue shirt is an exact replica of those we wore in Vietnam. Color, material, material weight, covered buttons, etc. I saw some complaints in the reviews that the material was “too thin”. I kind of doubt that the people making this complaint were ever in Vietnam. It was hot and humid in Vietnam, and during the monsoon season always wet. For those of us who spent our tour in the field, when it rained, these cloths had to dry on our backs. Therefore the light weight design. I would recommend this fatigue shirt for anyone looking for an exact replica of the Vietnam jungle fatigue shirt.

When I Picked Up The Package I Thought It Was A Tee Shirt I Had Ordered.
The shirt is lighter than I remember, when I first picked up the package I thought it was a tee shirt I'd ordered. It does look authentic but (to my memory) this is not made of the same material. Also the washing instructions are to treat this as a delicate garment: "Use a mild detergent, warm water, no starch and do not hang wring out the water after washing it." NO STARCH? And if you must iron it this what the instructions say, "If touch up is required. iron at moderate or synthetic heat settings." Yes the shirt was light weight but it could withstand washing and ironing and (for inspections) it was starched too. We did not have the facilities (or often any choice of detergent) in how we washed them so these blouses had to stand up to some pretty harsh washing conditions at times and particularly when we were "In the Arizona" as we called being out in the field. So this is authentic in appearance but it is not the original material.Much to my surprise I found a pair of my old army issue utility trousers while going through some boxes over this past weekend (April 11/12, 2020) and they are 100% pure cotton. I was also pleased that they still fit. They are very light -- although these blouses are not the same material) otherwise they are an excellent copy of the original. On a minor point, the left hand chest pocket has a hole across the top seam where you could keep two army issue pens. Mine only has space for one pen (and I still have two of these pens so I am sure of this point.)I think civilians looking at it will not know the difference but I can tell.Sam, US Army 4th Infantry Division which operated in and around the Ia Drang Valley (two tours). So I'll keep the one I have but do not plan on buying another. If it was $25 instead of $42 I would be more likely to get another. I still haven't made my mind up yet as to whether or not I want to remove the patches/insignia from one of army issue camo blouses to put on this shirt. [And yes blouse is the term used by the army.)As to size, I'm 6' 2" & 220 Lbs. and the extra large size fits me.Finally, I do realize the men of good will will have differing opinions on any subject. One thing that comes with the shirt that might matter to some is an authentic dog tag with the company logo on it with a length of authentic army beaded chain (about 4" long) that we used to hang our second dog tag around the main chain. For those who have only ever seen dog tags on TV or in the movies -- we (almost) never wore our dog tags on the outside of any shirt we wore. This showing of dog tags is pure Hollywood. Those in battle areas always wrapped their dog tags with tape or something to keep them from making noise that would give away our position.Simeon 'Sam' Hovey 23 years in the regular army and reserves. Piece of Garbage. Waste of money. Not worth $5.
This thing was an absolute piece of garbage. It's NOT rip-stop. It's NOT what you see in the picture. The quality of the manufacturing was also horrendous.

Good Jungle Fatigue Shirt
I wore the real deal in Vietnam. This shirt is a faithful copy of the ones that I wore in 1970-1971. I wore it for a Veterans' Day Parade after getting various patches sewn on. It fit like I expected it to fit and was comfortable for the 10 hours that I wore it. If I needed another one, I would buy this again.

My husband liked the shirt but
My husband liked the shirt but, I had to return the shirt since the size was completely different from what the Amazon Sizing chart said it should be. In the Amazon sizing chart it said the 3XL chest size was 45 but on the shirt itself it said 53-57. My husband would love the shirt but I don't know how to determine the correct size to buy since the Amazon chart is so off compared to the manufacturer of this shirt. My husband's chest is 49" so thought I had order the correct size

close to original
as described except the original 'nam era were a tad thicker. (I had one from my uncle, which I now passed on to his grandson).. I don't think the rothco will make 50 yrs.. I used it for bird hunting in the 80's but the rothco will be great for summer bon fires and fishing, keeping mosquitos off. the 2x is correctly sized but could've been two inches longer. I'm in the middle of 2x and 2x long.

Nice copy of original
Very nice copy of the original olive drab shirt I was issued in Nov 1968. In early 1969 we were issued a camo version of this same style. It was more of a woodland camo than the tiger stripe version that Rothco offers now but the tiger stripe version is nice. I'm 2 sizes bigger now than I was back in the day but I followed the military sizing which is very accurate. Amazon should list the military sizing that's on the collar tag of these shirts rather than the sizing they use. The military sizing of these shirts is S 33-37" chest, M 37-41" chest, L 41-45" chest, XL 45-49" chest and all of these in regular height of 67-71". They also may have short and long (tall) versions. If you know your measurements this sizing should fit comfortably. This is a nice lightweight shirt & will make a great work shirt.

Vietnam Remembered
This Vietnam Jungle utility shirt was exactly what I wanted. It will be used as a prop for a presentation titled "Defending Da Nang." The fit is perfect and this replica is exactly as I remembered my "Jungle Ute" shirt in 1968-69. (Of course that was forty years and forty pounds ago.) Packaging was great, item arrived prior to delivery date. Bravo Zulu! Keep up the good work.
