Creative Haven African Glamour Coloring Book (Adult Coloring Books: World & Travel)

This coloring book is beautiful! Most adult coloring books are a mix of nice pictures, okay pictures, and pictures that I know I will never have any desire to color. I typically end up coloring the few pictures I do like, and leaving the majority of the book blank. Not so with this coloring book. This is the first coloring book I have come across where every single page is beautiful and makes me want to grab my coloring pencils. When I saw the book online, I was worried that I wouldn't like the fact that the bodies were already colored in black. I thought that it would take away from my ability to chose to use different shades of brown for the skin tones. Nope. In person, the black silhouettes make the pictures pop, and only add to the beauty of each page. If I could only have one coloring book, this would be it. I'm so glad I came across this gem of a book!

Marjorie Sarnat is my very favorite coloring book artist. I have ten of her books and I adore her Cat collections. But this African Glamour is my favorite of all. I colored 21 of the pictures in this book…more than in any other book that I own. And I am sure that I will eventually complete the remainder of these as well. My great wish is that she will present a similar coloring book of Indian Glamour showing the gorgeous clothing worn by the women of India. I would love to be able to complete these as well using all the beautiful colors available.

I love the art work but the paper used for this book isn’t marker friendly, so I have to use colored pencils instead. I really wanted this book for my markers but that’s fine.

Another great coloring book. At first I was undecided because I like to see samples of what I'm buying but I went ahead and bought it, actually two of them, one for my daughter also. Her books are great and I have never been disappointed in any of her art. This book is fun! I colored the jewelry on the silhouette and it pops nicely with glitter gel pens. Its a fun coloring book. We both love it and I can't wait for her others to come out. I will be buying them. Sight unseen because all of her books are just wonderful and fun to color in!! I also love the thickness of the pages! Please keep them coming! There are at least three more and I will be Pre-ordering them soon. Thank you for these wonderful coloring books. To a great artist!

Great book!

One thing I have not liked during my recent coloring book hobby is that some books are WAY too detailed to the point they're near unfun pointillism chores, or they're nearly blank pages of 2 bland circles. This book is just right design-wise. The paper is good quality, one sided and perforated so you can tape them up on a wall. It could have probably used 1-2 pages where you could actually draw the details of the figures rather than uniformly silhouettes, but overall it's one of the best coloring books I've come across.

I'm not even sure how I had landed on this particular coloring book but I am glad I did. The pages are easy to tear out and more than that, the collaboration between Marjorie Sarnat and Cia Slater- created the most stunning elements, animals, print dresses, scarves and more. These were such a delight to color!I began adult coloring in 2016 but stopped, so I am not an "experienced colorist" per se, however, since quarantining I have found I enjoy coloring Sarnat's artwork very much.
