I just passed the exam with a score of 834 and have already passed the 70-697 exam. There is some overlap in the material in the 2 exams ( I used William Paneck's book for the 697).The material is OK, but it doesn't go into much depth, there are a lot of links to MS web pages for more detailed info. It would be nice if they at least included a website that has all of the links in a clickable format. The URLs are usually long and a pain to type accurately. Also - no practice questions included! Paneck's 697 book included an assessment test, practice questions after each chapter, and 100 practice questions on a website for about the same price as this book. I also thought Paneck's book prepared me better for the test, although you won't pass the test just by reading either book.

Out of date and doesn't go very deep
Book has some great info. But leaves much to be desired as far as the exam was concerned. There are several links directing you to "learn more here". Um, I can't click on this paper book and get to that site geniuses. You think I'm gonna type all that out?! JUST PRINT IT! Some stuff goes into detail, some are just instructions; click here then here then here. Also seemed out of date. Guess you should wait until May for the new version to come out. Where that one will be out of date shortly after..

I don't know if I've just been spoiled by other books while studying for various certs, but this book has a lot left to be desired. No practice tests. No glossary. Nothing specifying what's really important for the exam. A lot of "Here's a link go study it." To be fair I haven't take the exam yet, but reading through it once I have no way to gauge whether I have grasp of what's on the exam. Practice test questions would go a long way.

Pretty good resource, hands-on guide
It's a good reference for the test. The way it's set up you're basically going through tons of exercises (ie - work through it at your computer with a purchased or eval copy of Win10). The amount of material covered is deep and the thought exercises at the end are a nice touch and good review for the test. I only wish there was more online test prep material form the publisher (a la Sybex) or something beyond the many, many, many references to "Wanna learn more - got to this TechNet article".

Great book. Wish it came with a CD that included a practice test, like these books used to have. But still very much worth the cost.

This book is great for knowledge of windows 10
Took the exam today and passed, no thanks to this book. I'm really baffled about what was on the exam in comparison to all the topics that surround installing and configuring windows 10. Exam tip-learn powershell, because at least half of the exam references cmdlts and partitioning disks. This book is great for knowledge of windows 10, as far as passing the exam, useless.

Overview of the product, not enough to pass the exam or understand the product.
As a lapsed Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) who's actively taught NT4, 2000, XP (uggg Vista) 7 (uggg 8/8.1) and seen the varying efforts on MS Courseware and supplementary products such as this, I'll give my two pennies' worth. This product is nowhere near the quality or conciseness of the 070-680 Windows 7 Training Kit which had detailed information on deployment and support of that product. If you read the 872 pages of the 680 training kit, did the labs and the enclosed CD you would pass the exam with flying colours and actually learn something. Apologies to the Author of this product, I'm sure he had a brief and like most of the courseware MS now produce is insufficient to pass the exam, his spine probably shivers every time books the exam. In layman's terms: its providing the training and sending you off to war without the gun and body armour. Its an overview to make notes on, not rely on - I'd be purchasing some additional CBT Training, utilising Microsoft MVA and Measure Up to ensure success. Microsoft..please take note! Exam Takers..please use the comment section at the end of the exam if you agree with the above, you will find a similar theme running through 2012R2 and (I hope not) the upcoming Server 2016 certification path. Good luck

70-698 exam - this book has it covered!
The 70-698 is one of those exams that Microsoft have retrofitted in their certification pathway. Initially they had said that the 70-697 would be the one and only exam for Windows 10. The 70-697 is a good exam if your estate include Office 365 and Azure. But what if in this era of interoperability you want to concentrate on just Windows 10? Well, this is where the 70-698 fits in. If you are a new IT Pro or just need to understand the myriad of features in Windows 10, then this exam is for you. And what better way to prepare than use this book from two experts in the Windows world. Andrew and Andrew guide as through each of the exam objectives covering in detail the knowledge required and the skills to apply that knowledge. With detailed steps they guide you through how to sue the different features. I love that they also bring in PowerShell wherever possible as this is how an IT Pro can automate a Windows environment. I particularly liked the thought experiments which help you to apply your knowledge to unfamiliar situations. So if you are embarking on the next step of your career and 70-698 is on that hitlist, then definitely add this book to the top of your reading list!

however it is very enlightening and has helped a great deal in developing our corporate Windows 10 build
You have to be an i.t. professional or doing a degree to get excited by this. I am neither, however it is very enlightening and has helped a great deal in developing our corporate Windows 10 build.

An Authoritative book, thoroughly recommended
Installing and Configuring Windows 10 is an authoritative book regardless of what level of training and knowledge you're at. The authors really know their stuff and write in clear, easy to understand language. I can thoroughly recommend it.
