Sunday Afternoons Women's Caribbean Hat

I wore this hat for two weeks while in South America. I like the next string as there were some breezy conditions and it stayed on my head. Had a few rainy days but the brim was large enough to protect my glasses from getting wet, and it dried out quickly Provided good sun protection for my neck and face. Packed easy. Highly recommend.

Although I own several hats with a similar style / shape to this, the ones I have at home are made of that paper material. This means I can't get them wet. And they don't have chin straps. I chose this particular hat for kayaking, boating and windy days at the beach. Things I love about this hat: It offers sun protection, wide brim for good shading, light weight, unique green color, and has strap to stay on in the wind. It's made of polyester, so if it falls in the water, it will not get destroyed. There is wiring around the edge of the brim, so you can bend the shape of the hat a little bit to your desire. Packing it up does not appear to be a problem. It arrived folded up in a small box, and it unfurled with no issues. Style is very much outdoorsy, beachy, rather than dressy. I think this will do a great job for the purpose I bought it for. I'm very happy with it!

I love Sunday Afternoons hats but this one is too big and sits so low on your head that it covers the top of your ears. I suppose not too bad if you are only wearing it for a short time but being that I need to wear it pretty much all day in the Florida sun this would get really uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this one is going back. Sunday Afternoons was my go-to place for hats but now I need to go elsewhere.

Even though this hat is a little large on me, I still love it. It is a "One Size Fits All" and if your hair is thick and/or curly it should fit better. I am going to wear a bandana on my head and the hat over it, unless I can find something else that would work. The color of the hat that I got is "Dune" and it is just like the picture. I really like the decorated band of shell like buttons, and dark brown straw .. it is kinda rustic in style, and this hat is not floppy, it keeps it's shape. I don't usually wear hats, but I have to have one for a trip to the coast and this hat gives a UPF 50+ resistant, which I need all the protection I can get. Not all hats give that much protection so this is a good thing. I gave it a 4 rating instead of a 5 just because it is somewhat large on me, but other than that, the hat is great.

I love this hat, and that is different from my other sun hats. It is a little tight, but not uncomfortably so. That being said, I have a smaller head. So if you need larger hats or you have big hair, this might not be the right hat for you. It is easy to pack in a suitcase and goes back to its shape every time.

I'm 25 years old and this hat isn't old ladyish to me! The buttons on it are rather eclectic and funky, I love it. Its not too paleontologist looking, its cute and practical. It fits well and the strap, although I don't care for the straps, they are immensly useful,particularly when you live in the windy southwest like I do. Most sun hats blow away and I end up chasing them. I need large sun hats as I get migraines from sun exposure but live in an area with intense sun. This hat is amazing.my favorite summery outfit is this hat and a flowy skirt.I've owned many different brands but I keep coming back to Sunday afternoons. They're so well made and have so many little features. My whole family now wears Sunday afternoons hats. I'm so happy to have a stylish hat that protects me enough to still spend time outdoors despite an illness.

I love this hat. I have been wearing it while sunbathing this week and I'm taking it with me to Kauai next week. I know someone said that it was "old ladyish" and maybe it is a bit but my 26 year old daughter is the one who introduced me to Sunday Afternoon hats and she also loves hers! It keeps my head so much cooler when I wear this. It's great at blocking the sun with that wide brim. The material is sturdy and so far I haven't had any issues with the strap although it hasn't been windy. I'll find out when I bring it to the beach next week!Edit - I wore it for a week in Kauai and even on windy days it was great. I wore the strap and had no issues with it. Lovely hat!

I returned this item but Amazon reported that I did not. I plan to investigate. Usually the returns are so easy to make. I have never had a problem before this.
