Great resource for anyone traveling to Yellowstone
Just got back from Yellowstone and purchased this before leaving. I love the layout and divisions of the book and wish I had ordered sooner (before booking hotels). The maps/diagrams/charts are in color and easy to understand... the hiking trails were well described (easy, mod, strenuous... mileage...duration, etc) and helped us get an idea of how we wanted to spend our time there. The most helpful topics for me included: Old Faithful/WYellowstone, NYellowstone, Volcanic/Geyser education, Safety in Bear Country, hiking, what to do if you only have a day, beating the crowds, and history. I also purchased “Zion & Bryce” and “Grand Canyon” from the same publisher (Moon)... I had read reviews that they were the best guide books and I was not disappointed... Would purchase more from this publisher as I feel the topics were extremely well covered!

Excellent All in One Travel Guide
We are headed to both the Tetons and Yellowstone in the fall of 2018. We purchased this book in August, 2018, and find it excellent at its coverage of the various options for lodging, activities, trails to hike, sites to see, even suggestions for good photographic locations (though there are better book resources for this last particular information need. We'd give it an excellent rating, the best. Incidentally, looking at our bookshelf of travel books we've bought over the last decade for various vacation trips, they are now overwhelmingly Moon Guides. They really are doing a great job of editing what you need in a sufficiently thorough but well-edited way.

Really useful for planning and while in parks
Used this book for 5 days in both parks. The book breaks down the parks into regions, which was super helpful. The organization was north to south and our trip was south to north, but it was reasonable to read through each section of the parks out of order. The lodging and food sections were spot on, the places we stayed and ate were great for our family. We travel best value/mid range vs high end, so those are the recommendations we used. We stuck with shorter hikes since parts of the parks were closed, but we had a great trip following the guidance from this book.

Book Fell Apart
The contents of this book are excellent. This book did not leave my side while we were traveling through the Tetons and Yellowstone this summer. It was my go to guide for everything...maps, hiking trails, restaurants, museums, and points of interest. The only problem was that the pages started to fall out after a few days.

PLeasantly Surprised
I got this book for my wife (she;s the travel agent in the family) for a tri to Yellowstone. She was very impressed with the content and the layout of information. She preferred it to the travel books she usually buys (they start with an F). I can't speak to the accuracy until we travel to Yellowstone next fall (She likes to plan ahead!), but she said she wanted to try a Moon series book for our next destination (she hasn't told me where that is yet!)

Plenty of the right information about the YStone and GT NPs
From the great concise guide, we can research further from the internet and make reservations. Color coded page edges really help in finding the areas of interest quickly, and the index points you to every mention of the searched test. Fits in carry on luggage for time in the airport or aboard plane. Number one piece of advice we've heard about our first trip: have a PLAN, don't show up empty on what you want to see or do! This guide will help us accomplish that. THANKS

This book was great while on our road trip
This book was great while on our road trip. Internet access is very limited in Yellowstone; I couldn't have done without the help from the book while inside the park for the first time! We were able to see many things that we would have missed in both Yellowstone and the Tetons! It is a great size and very easy to read. Information is easy to locate, and there is an index in the back for quick access. Great buy!

Excellent: buy it if you are going there.
The book is written by a single, highly knowledgeable author, which gives it continuity of style and substance. It is extremely clear, systematic, very well illustrated and informative. Maps, photographs and typographical divisions of the text use full colour, making the book a pleasure to use and easy to navigate. The different areas within Grand Teton and Yellowstone each receive detailed coverage but the book also offers appealing overviews and itineraries for exploring within and between the constituent areas by motorised transport, hiking or other means. All of the usual topics of accommodation, restaurants, etc., are discussed, as well as advice on subjects such as wildlife and plants, health and safety. it is undoubtedly one of the very best among the many travel guides I have used.
