Really impressive lens for the money!
Where else could you buy a 55mm 1.4 for less than a hundred pounds? It may only be manual focus, but for the saving of at least £300 compared to the Fuji F2 equivalent MF is something I'm prepared to put up with. I have an X-T2 and with focus peaking on, it is very easy to get used to manual focus, even in portraits of children. You'll probably get a fair miss rate at first, but with some practice you'll quickly adjust, and when combined with a fast burst, you're almost guaranteed to get at least one keeper in each selection.I must admit I did not expect much from this lens in terms of sharpness and I was prepared to be disappointed and sell it on. I still have it, because when you stop down (and even wide open) the image quality is really good. Obviously it won't compare to the 56 F1.2, but gives the 50mm F2 a decent run for its money. It also has a lot of character, much like the 56mm which is nice, especially when used for it's intended purpose of portraits. Not as "clinical" and the 50mm F2. I've included one of the first (grab) shots I took with the lens just to show what you can expect. Light was not great and the lens was wide open, but I'm pleased with both the sharpness and bokeh.I don't use the lens all that much (not my favourite focal length), so this was perfect, rather than spending £400+ on the Fuji equivalent. I figured I'd buy this and if I find I use it a lot, I can upgrade to the real thing. Honestly I don't feel the need - this lens does what I need for a lot less money.

Great little manual lens..
Well made and competitively priced. For portrait shots where you want total control this lens is a gem.

Great lens for the money
Nice all metal build quality. Very sharp throughout the range. Manual focus, but if your camera has focus peaking it's very easy to use and probably ends up being quicker to focus than some autos out there. Some CAs wide open in high contrast areas but disappear at 1.8, easy to correct in post if needed. Doesnt handle lens flare very well, but most lenses have they're quirks.Overall amazing lens for the money, no hassle recommending it.

No-brainer for the price
Lot of fun with this lens used on an MFT camera. It is very sharp once stopped down, and totally acceptable from f/1.8 on. Build quality is very solid for the price. I gave it 'only' 4 stars out of 5 because its applications at f/1.4 may be quite limited, as the lens tend to be a tad too soft as soon as you move away from the very centre of the image... but I guess you'd use it at full aperture only for head-shots, which is fine.

Oh my, what a photograph!
This is the original Mk1 version of this lens. My lens performs as per the on-line reviews. I am very, very pleased with the output of this manual focus lens, wide open the images are to die for. How do they do it for the price? I will buy from this seller again.

Sharp with a buttery smooth bokeh!
*shot above straight out of camera (Fuji xe3)*What can I say, for less than a £100 this is a no brainer, unbelievably sharp and such a gorgeously smooth bokeh. The focus ring is light and fast without being loose, the aperture ring is smooth as can be ( I know some people dislike de-clicked).For the money you won’t find better!

Great Value
Using with a Fuji X-T20, initial impressions very good, considering the price. Lovely detail in focus, and some nice bokeh. Looks like it could perform very well for portraits and similar.

Super value - great fun.
Hard to fault this lens, it even 'feels' like a Fuji lens. The only downside is the manual focus but I knew about that so no loss of stars for it. Easy to use on Fuji, you need to set the camera to 'shoot without lens' and then apart from the Manual focus it all functions as normal. Make sure you set the camera to manual focus and then you can use the Fuji 'Focus aids' to get perfect focussed shots... I found focus peaking to be the best and very reliable. The bokeh from this lens is great for the price and can help turn a messy background into smoothed out attractive backdrop. One star dropped for the mount which seems plastic - not bad but could be better. The image is just a test shot in poor light but shows the potential.

Excellent Lens
This lens is very sharp. Thanks to the F1.4 the lens does very well in low light situations. The price doesn't reflect the quality - it is as good as many very expensive lenses on the market.
