Got mine and have used it exclusively on COD4 - god damn it makes a difference, my accuracy is a good 5% higher than all my mates. Set the sensitivity in the game nice and high, and fairly low on the device and it honestly feels like a mouse. Didn't do any firmware updates or anything, just used it out of the box.I didn't have the same experience with other FPS games, I downloaded a load of demos from PSN, which is a shame. But I only play cod4 really so I don't feel too hard done by. If it' performed better on other games it would have got a 5.

Below My Expectations
If you're wondering whether to try this out then just don't bother. If you have never used a PC mouse before then you might think it is ok. However, if you have used a PC mouse then you will find it well below your expectations.I was unsure about this item when I first saw it because of the mixed reviews. After testing this item heavily with Warhawk and Kane and Lynch I cannot see how this can ever be as good as the PS3 controller let alone a real mouse (and I am a huge fan of mouse and keyboard style). The motion is very jerky, it is hard to use precise aiming and if you move the mouse too quick you will find you do not move as far (sensor problems perhaps).I compared the unit to a standard wireless USB mini mouse (valued £3.50) in the PS3 browser. When moving my USB mini mouse in a circular motion the cursor was nice and smooth, however, when I tried the same with the FragFx mouse it was very "squared-off" and ended up following a diamond shape rather than a circular motion. Consequently I struggled to get the mouse to point at specific web page items.I am returning mine because the performance is well below my expectations and I am surprised in passed any kind of standards testing. SplitFish had a nice idea but if the games don't have mouse support then I don't think there is a way around it.

A step in the right direction
As a hardcore PC Gamer for years, and now the proud owner of a PS3, I really struggled with FPS style games. I have years of all the Quake flavours, and Unreal under my belt, and to suddenly be forced to use a joypad to do what comes instincively with keyboard and mouse, was at best nigh on impossible. So I was over the moon when I read about this product, and finally got hold of one.Dissapointing...Yes - It works, but the mouse is of poor quality, and the buttons are badly positioned. But the BIGGEST problem - It is simply not sensitive enough, or rather, not precise enough. You can wind up sensitivity, but then it becomes jerky, and personally it makes me feel a little motion sick.It is better than joypad on games such as Jericho, but nowhere near as good as a proper mouse/keyboard.I hear the next Unreal will support usb mouse/keyboard - Thats the way to go for me - either that, or a much more precise, and solid version of this thing...which I appreciate would be more expensive...But then I spent £60 on my Laser mouse!

Makes ps3 better then pc for for FPS
I cannot play any FPS game with mouse control. So I was stuck relying on PC for FPS. This device has made me convert to PS3 and save loads of money since I do not have to upgrade my pc. I have 6 buttons on the mouse + several more buttons on the ergonimically designed handheld device. I feel I am more in control with this device then a mouse and keyboard on a PC.The device is well built and extremely reliable. I just plug it in and play!I love this device (now can we have Crysis on PS3!!!)

Not as bad as some reviews suggest
Having been torn about buying this controller by the see-sawing reviews I took the plunge and spent the cash. For an FPS player migrating from a PC it makes life a lot easier and far less frustrating. I've used it with CoD4 and Oblivion with good results and a huge improvement in my CoD4 multiplayer enjoyment. The mouse really isn't as bad as stated in some reviews. Given that this is the only controller of it's type that I could find, I'm very much of the impression that I'd rather live with a couple of niggles than going back to 'spray and pray' when playing an FPS.

Splitfish - boasts of quality, delivers cheap plastic
After struggling with the transition to a ps3 console from a PC, I thought this would be an ideal crossover gadget :) The idea is very sound, and it does indeed deliver mouse like accuracy. However, after ordering one from amazon, I discovered that the mouse buttons required a very firm push to fire/ throw a frag, and that the special grenade and sight buttons almost required me to squeeze my hand harder than if I was doing pull ups! I thought it might just be the one unit that was knackered, so sent it back, however the replacement had the same issues, and this time the left analogue stick would sitck if pushed to the edge of movement and not move back to centre. Very frustrating! Have returned my second one and do not intend to try a third.Such a shame, it promised so much, but delivered very little.Time for me to practice with the normal controller I feel :)

it 's ok
i bought this cause i'm not brill with analogue controllers and i bought it to play call of duty 4 (the only game i own)and i personally think it works great.(after updating the firmware via splitfish website) as people say you need to set the sensetivity on the frag fx(i set my controller to 1-2 and in game 5 for cod4)the build quality should be better for the price and the buttons need to be pressed a little harder than you would on your ps3 controller, but this isnt a massive issue, in my opinion if you prefer a mouse option to play fps i'd say give this a go.
