Building Outdoor Structures (Taunton's Build Like a Pro)

The book was somewhat helpful. I was looking for more on building a pergola than the other yard stuff they were showing.

I bought this book mainly to get ideas about building outdoor items. I have a lot of the Black and Decker home improvement books, and I really like those. Then I read about how well put together the Taunton Books were. So I took a chance and bought this book used. Unlike the B&D books, this book didn't have the variety of projects and ideas I was looking for. The main focus of this book seems to be "ranch" type projects. Not really "fancy" looking projects or unique projects like I was looking for. The information provided to make the projects is well written and full of good advice. However, in my opinion, if you're looking for an outdoor building book or any type of "home how-to" books, my experience is the Black & Decker books have a LOT more ideas for you, with just enough information on how to actually do them. To me, this book didn't have as many ideas as I was looking for.

Book had a little more wear that expected, however it did arrive on time and I guess it could be seen as acceptable. The book itself fell far short of what I expected. I've purchased other books that have much more information, building designs and instructions

Most of the book taken up with basic (newbie) info. Waste of time for the professional.

This is an excellent book written by a professional who knows his stuff. The one down side is that it's American.
