Both of my bathroom drains were draining very slow, with occasional whiffs of a sour odor. On the first drain, I used the yellow strip with barbs. I fed it through the three small openings at the top of the pipe, gave it a bit of twist, and then gently pulled it out. The barbs held onto the hair and pulled a substantial amount of the slimy stuff out. After that, less then 5 minutes work, the drain was perfect. These plastic strips are flimsy, but they are made to be so that you can twist them in the drain. Also, the strips are easily replaced on Amazon. You can see a good example of this in one of the video reviews.Onto the second drain, which was more of a challenge. The yellow strip did not reach far enough down to reach any clog. So I brought in the heavy artillery, i.e., the 33 foot Drain Snake Augur. Feeding the wire into the drain takes a bit of patience and finesse. As you are feeding it into the drain, you pull it backwards and forwards until it can clear whatever obstacle is blocking it. This is usually part of the U-shaped trap. If that doesn't work, then you have to tighten the set screw to hold the wire in place. Then you turn the handle while pushing the wire forward. That will do the trick. Then loosen the set screw and keep feeding the wire into that drain. I know that in another of the video reviews the reviewed pulled out a solid mass of congealed hair which looked like a cat's hairball, only about 8 times bigger. And so it was with me. The Drain Snake captured and removed a huge, wet and slimy hairball from my drain. Again, problem solved: drain running free and smelling sweet. FYI, clean up wasn't too bad. Using gloves, I pulled off most of the hair into a plastic bag. It looked like it was going to be difficult to clean the tip, as matter has accumulated inside the wire. Not so! I just gave it a few swished in the toilet bowl and the gunk dissolved into the water. This took about 15 minutes. Like the yellow strip, the Drain Snake Augur was easy to use and did a remarkable job.In the past I used powerful drain cleaners which contained either hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. There worked most of the time, but these chemicals are dangerous and are not very good for the environment. I don't think you can buy either of them in hardware stores in California. The drain augurs I had tried in the past were ineffective because they were so difficult to use and which had a very short reach. I have also used plumbers who specialized in opening drains: $90 for the first drain and $60 each for subsequent drains cleaned during 1 visit. The Drain Snake Augur saved me about $115.

These Drain Snakes worked wonders on my bathtub and sink. I have long, thick curly hair and these removed so much hair and gunk from the drain that now my sink drains as if it is brand new! Easy to use. Love them!

It didn't go very far in my bathroom sink but was able to remove a tiny bit of hair. I do believe it will work fo the kitchen sink so I'm going to keep it. It is very sturdy so I'm happy with the quality.

Didn’t fix the problem, and broke first time using it. Money I won’t get back.

This product comes with two small snakes with barbed ends, which are always convenient for sinks that have minor hair clogs. It also came with a smaller snake that has the claw on the end that can grab clogs, which is nice. However, our issue was the larger, 33 ft auger, which is what we bought this product for. Our kitchen sink has a clog. We followed all of the instructions to use this, and the cable twisted up inside of our pipes, which was an absolute nightmare to remove. Just a heads up if you purchase this. It took forever to get it back out.

Helped us clear a clog in our camper sink, nothing else had worked. Will now use at home if needed.

Grabber is LESS flexible than advertised. Would not bend beyond the P-Trap. The orange barbed plastic snake is okay for shallow drain cleaning, but is otherwise short.
