Bootstrap Farmer makes the best trays and pots in my experience! Excellent quality, very sturdy and long lasting. Don’t waste your money on less expensive ones. These are worth every penny.

I thought like most gardeners that I don't need fancy heavy duty plant trays and was sure I could make do with the flimsy trays that you can find at any big box store. However, no matter how careful you are, they all start to crack after a short time and after a year or so, they are just trash. I even tried to make wooden trays so I could pick them up when they're full. This spring I bit the bullet and decided to buy a set. I'm wondering how I did without them for so long. They are sturdy and you can pick them up loaded with soil or potted plants with just one hand and they don't break!

I ordered these 1010 trays to support my larger pots after transplanting from the seedling tray. They fit into the standard 1020 trays and are very sturdy. They easily support the larger pots without bending or deforming. For my home garden they're a perfect size.

These sturdy trays have so many uses! I use them to bottom water indoor plants, move groups of bulbs or seeds or mulch or potting soil, and even provide a stand for pots! The 10x10 size is good for starting smaller amounts of seeds as I can put a few six-cell starting trays in a 10x10 that are about the same stage of development and move them together under grow lights or outside to harden off. And because the trays are so sturdy I do not have to worry about them twisting or collapsing and spilling the contents even when carrying them with one hand. I love these!!

Like many gardeners, I try to be mindful of my environmental footprint and that includes avoiding disposable or poor quality items as much as possible and reusing items for as long as possible. I don't start enough seeds at once to really need 1020 trays, so I decided to go with the 1010 trays instead for ease of storage/transport. In terms of quality, these are great - very solid and miles ahead of some of the cheaper garden trays out there. I could imagine using them for years. They're sleek looking, and the indents and channels at the bottom are great to ensure proper drainage. The ones I received were stamped to say they were made in the USA. However, I want to reiterate what another reviewer mentioned, be aware that not all 6-cell trays (or other modular multi-cell plug trays) fit nicely in this. I do not own the Bootstrap Farmer's own brand of 6-cell or other multi-cell/small pot trays, so I do not know if those fit. I have a nice set of quality 6-cell and 4-cell trays from another brand*. Both are supposed to fit perfectly in 1020-style trays, but neither of those fit nicely in this 1010 tray. I have seen some bulkier multi-cell trays - even Bootstrap Farmer's own 6-cell tray has a very small lip along the top - but the ones I have are sleek enough that I thought it might work. Nope, still doesn't fit. I think what happened is 2 of these 1010 trays are meant to fit perfectly into the Bootstrap Farmer 1020 trays, but the lip at the top of these trays take up enough space that the inside measurements aren't quite exactly half of a 1020 tray. Unfortunately, that meant this had to go back, but I would definitely repurchase if they came out with a slightly tweaked 1010 tray that did fit half of a 1020 tray. *For those wondering why I didn't purchase 1010 trays from the same company as I purchased my plug trays, it's because as far as I know, they don't offer a 1010 size.

With all the conflicting reviews, I didn't expect much from these trays. I was shocked when they arrived at how heavy the package was and thought that something else must be in there with them. Nope, just the most sturdy seed starting trays I could imagine! Pretty sure you would have to run one over with a vehicle to break it. I think they will last pretty much forever and that helps the rather large price go down a whole lot easier. If you are serious about growing, these are the trays for you. I am planning on growing micro-greens in these and will be using them over and over again. I am sure there will be no problems!

Full disclosure - I returned these - I misordered, I wanted the 1020, not the 1010's. But I did feel the quality before putting them back in the box. Not sure if I would want to pick somebody up with them (as shown in the video on their website), but they are very sturdy. Definitely buying the 1020's when they come back in stock. waaayyyyy more heavy duty than the cheap junk I've had in the past. I might have to buy more if I need more, but I don't see ever having to replace them because they break/crack.

I love these trays very well made

Loved the quality of this tray, I also bought the one with holes for drainage. Won’t be using this for a couple of months but I wanted to buy ones that would last me a long long time, so I’m not adding to an annual throw away plastic problem. These seemed to fit the bill. Happy with what I’ve seen so far.

Will update with time but initial thought is that they are very decent, not sure exactly how thick but maybe some where between the dual thick vacuum mold and quad thick injection molded 1020's I have. It's number 5 plastic, it's also looking like they will be perfect for what I want
