This seems to be working well, a more sanitary way of handling dog waste disposal.
This seems to be working very well. It was a great solution for the disposal of the waste that our two medium sized dogs leave on the back yard lawn. My hubby does the pick-up duty once or twice a week to stay on top of it.

Sturdy
Sturdy, good concept. Deep hole difficult to dig.

Too much from our house for this
UPDATE: 3YR LATER: went to start using it for the season and realized the bottom of the unit is cracked and no longer holding water. Suspect the rapid deep freeze of this past winter (From 30's to Zero degrees F in a matter of half a day) cracked the unit - or maybe it just rusted out?I love the idea of this taking the poo out of the yard so you don't step in it or have a dog decide to eat it (the red one... I understand its a thing sometimes).Like the idea of not adding poop to a landfill too!Unfortunately first problem is we have 3 dogs at 65-85-90 lbs and the quantity of poop exceeds what can be processed. The second issue is here in Tennessee the soil can have high clay content and yet I tried this anyway. The hole underneath can literally get full to the bucket toward the end of the summer; especially if the ground is saturated.Clearly in the directions the subject of too many dogs and clay soil are stated to be negatives to the function so consider this more a cautionary note. What I am doing is scooping-and-landfill about 4 days a week and using the dooley for the rest. Its a great thing for people who watch my dogs to use as well.If it does get too full I add extra septic powder and not add more poo for a few days and it always evens out. I have found occasional "shake and bake" the Walmart septic powder in the scoop on the fresh poo right before adding it to the dooley effective.Ultimately I do recommend this product but be aware it may not be able to handle 100% of the capacity your pets produce. It does reduce what goes into the landfill from our house and that's always a good thing.good luck!

A Health Hazard Designed to Fail
Doggie Dooley 3000 Septic-Tank-Style Pet-Waste Disposal SystemI purchased the Doggie Dooley 3000 last August, one year ago, and followed installation and operation directions exactly. The only problem with the install is our sandy soil up here in northern Arizona so the opening at the top was a little wide. To solve that issue, I used a piece of 4’ x 4’ x 1” treated plywood with an appropriate sized hole cut.We have three small Terriers of about 10 lbs. each that the Dooley was to provide for. Never did. I have tried a lot of what some of the other users have. Same results. Nothing worked. Finally, the sun’s ultraviolet rays here at almost 5000 feet did in the cheap plastic upper shell, which had seen cracking for some months, and was now breaking apart and threatening to fall into the pit.I pulled the disgusting thing out and set it on the lip to dry for a few days before I toss it. I will backfill the hole with rock and dirt after. When you think about a private home septic system and how it works (if you don’t know, do a search) and then take a look at the Dooley, it should become obvious that at some point, just like your home, you are going to have solids left in the bottom of the can. Now in the case of your home, you have a professionally designed system with a very large capacity tank (multi-stage) that is designed to be pumped periodically. As for the Dooley, not only is nothing mentioned of this, but you are left to your own devices. At best, this is poor science and poor design. At worst, it is fraud upon the consumer as it is creating a health hazard.

Croc pot of dog poop
I have had the other version of DD and wanted to try this one because the shape of hole was easier.I really do like the idea of the DD but this model is just a big can. So dog poop is just cooking in it all day long. Watering it is important but the smell is awful. If you live somewhere that stays below 80 it might not be as bad.I will order the other model again.

Doggy Doo Doo septic tank first year
I decided since I have two big puppies that I need to find a way to pick up poo poo and be able to break it down so it’s not in the garbage stinking it in my garage. I got this doggy Doodoo and I love the way it works. The hard part is digging through the rock 4 feet down to put it in I would like to see a little bit more of a rim that’s more made out of metal that you can set it into the edges of This Where you place it for your septic tank recycling so the first time I put it together we it all comes in one piece. I love its mobility, and the one thing I would say, is make a little bigger hole where the poop goes down so that you can not have it gets stuck on the edges when it goes over the edge of the septic tank with water, filling it to go down the hole to be broken down . I’m absolutely loving it. You lift the lid you put the poopy in from the poopy Scoopy you put your enzyme in once a week you add water every time you put your poop in you had a gallon and if you’re starting out that’s 5 gallons with the two enzyme pills. It does come with enzyme pills and I’m just like I said very first time and year that I’m doing this so we may be updating this as we go. It says that you can leave it for the winter time, so my thing is, we’re gonna see how it does through the winter that’ll be the next one. I love it I’m glad to be able to pick up the poop and put it in there and just not worry about it well-made well done I like to see a lot more. I wouldnty mind selling these things. That said there’s a lot of things out there that are doggie poop things and there’s things you can do as well but read up make sure that they’re what you want and if you can do it in the air you’re in some places it’s not a good fit.
