creates a good seal
worked very well. I used it to seal joints on a wood stove pipe. After applying it appeared to flow into the seam creating a good seal. Wish they made it in a smaller tube, I have a lot left over.

Works well on pellet grills
This high heat mortar worked great. I was getting water that would leak between the pellet hopper and grill on my Pitboss pellet grill. I ordered this and used it to seal the gap between the grill and hopper. I also used this to seal between the grill and shelf to stop Walter from running down and filling my drippings bucket. This works great and is holding up well in the high heat areas touching the grill.

Works awesome to seal segmented indoor chimney
This works fantastic for my purpose. In my basement is a woodstove with one of those god-awful chimneys that has all the segmented sections that letâs air in to create creosote or in the summer if it reverses it letâs smoke smell out. After I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly I put this stuff on each section as I was putting it back together. Keep a bunch of wet paper towels are wet rags handy as you wipe excess off with your fingers as you go. Iâd say in 15 to 20 minutes it was semi hard. Then I just started a fire to fire the material. I have no smoke smell anymore. The draft is stronger to because thereâs not air leakage. Over the next few days of having fires the excess that I didnât quite wipe off or crack and fall to the ground but the stuff in the joints is staying strong. Itâs not the prettiest up close but when youâre not standing right next to it you really donât notice it. it dries to a very dark charcoal gray almost black. If Iâve gone slower I couldâve made it much less messy. It shows up more in the picture than it does in real life. You could definitely paint it with grill paint if you want to do afterwards. A+, five stars, two thumbs up, would play with grey fire smoo again!

High heat mortar
These went on easy enough to close a small gap in the pipe that attaches to my wood stove but even though I followed the directions and let it cure before building a fire, I have found some of the mortar has dried and flaked off leaving a fee pinholes around the pipe. I will reapply in the summer when I can leave it to cure for a few weeks instead of a few days and see if that helps. It did go on fairly smoothly and the black color blended in well with the pipe but if it doesn't hold up to the high heat it wont be worth the money.

Easy fix for broken fireplace logs
I just wet the broken pieces where they go together and then applied the Dap mortar. Held these tightly together for a couple minutes then put into my range oven and heated like the instructions read. Bonded like new again, then I put back into fireplace!

Comes out a little runny but has held up well and works on the cracks in our chimney. I âvâdâ the cracks to get better adhesion and all is good.

Worked great for me.

Used this to repair some minor cracks and a few small broken areas of mortar in my fireplaces. It is a bit sticky, sometimes preferring to stick to the tube and to fingers rather than to the mortar, thus it was a bit more difficult to apply than I had expected. However, overall it has stayed solidly in place after several fires in the fireplace, and it looks good.

Worked well for what I wanted. I needed to seal between the bottom metal edge of my fireplace grate and the irregular surface of the stone hearth. I was expecting that it would be firmer out of the tube and hold its shape better. I needed to tape off what I needed and let the product dry, which it did quickly. It has hardened now and fills my gaps very well.

Followed the instructions perfectly but the seal gave away just after two days.
