Platypod Pro Max Flat Wide Tripod Base for Camera/Camera/Lighting Equipment

A very useful desk top tripod. It easily supports a full frame DSLR with lens and feels very sturdy and secure. My set up (image attached) is for copying slides which makes the task very straightforward. Outdoors it will prove useful for ground level photography or positioning on a wall or bench.It is very well constructed and easy to carry and could be used where it is not practical (or easy) to carry a full sized tripod. Highly recommended.

I've had the product since November 2018, it does it exactly what it says and does it well.It's now got a permanent space in all my camera bags, especially useful for low level shoots and areas where tripods are forbidden.See the above picture of my set up... I teamed mine up with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Pro with B2 Pro II Clamp and a L-Bracket (3 Legged Thing Universal QR11-FBG) for an absolutely rock solid stable platform. I also bought the Multi Accessory Kit to go with it for total flexibility.

The Platpod base is well engineered and designed to be used to support heavy lenses where tripods cannot be used, typically in hides. The Platypus is very strong and stable.You May wish to take with you a couple of wood with you just in case any window is otherwise too high.

Taking the platypod on holiday rather than large tripod. Also have great plans for it over winter months and night photography in locations tripod cannot be used. Took these images of fireworks over Edinburgh Castle from wall of nearby bridge. Platypod was perfect for this. Tripod not tall enough and too many pedestrians about.

It will develop its own style of photography, but perhaps most importantly whatever type of project, whatever the kit I am willing to carry I now always have a sturdy tripod with me.

Perfect for travelling when tripods aren’t the easiest thing to carry around. Great for getting down low too.

The product is well made. However to be honest I gave not used it yet.
